even if he will play again, he isnt a long term option, and he can't play large amount of minutes. not that turkey is a long term solution, but hey thats weissass for you.
Phoenix had initially targeted Spurs restricted free agent Hedo Turkoglu, but negotiations stalled on Tuesday when Turkoglu rejected a six-year, $24 million offer. Turkoglu reached agreement with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday on a six-year deal for the full mid-level exception. 6/24 or 6/39 - you decide? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1835962
This might be good news for the Rockets. Maybe, the Spurs will lock up BB and prevent CD from making a long term mistake. Now, if this happens, couldn't we move JJ to PG and go after a SF like Steven Jackson for cheap. And then we would be able to sign a quality big man? What are your thoughts on this line up: PG: JJ/TL/RG SG: TM/EP SF: SJ/BN PF: JH/MT C: YM/ ?Chris Mihm
umm...these contracts are over the top. They are making CD look like a genius for signing Cato to that outrageous contract.
Why can't JJ play the point? Didn't he do so at Ohio State? He's got good ballhandling skills. In JVG's system, the PG is only required to protect the ball and feed Yao or T-Mac. I am sure T-Mac will handle the ball most of the time anyway.
I thought about JJ playing the point as well. Then I realized JJ is 220 lbs, that's a lot of weight for a pg. Unless JJ loses 20 pounds don't count him at the 1.
I had a dream yesterday. Mobley gets traded from Magic for someone (I couldn't remember) in a trade that doesn't make sense. Sorry, just had to put this down somewhere. Continue please.
Chad Ford's take on Insider today. http://proxy.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=ford_chad&id=1836108 Turkoglu cashes in: While the Spurs may have to seriously consider matching any offer for Ginobili, don't expect them to match the Magic's huge offer for Turkoglu. The Magic offered Turkoglu a whopping six-year deal for their full mid-level exception. That beat the Suns' six-year, $30 million offer by as much as $9 million depending on where the mid-level exception comes in. GMs were stunned by the numbers. Only Adonal Foyle's deal with the Warriors has turned more heads. Ironically, both contracts were negotiated by Lon Babby, making him our leading candidate for agent of the summer.
when is the last time a team has had a completely new starting line-up without one starter returning the next year? Orlando will probably start C - Cato PF - D. Howard SF - Turkoglu SG - Mobley PG - Francis
