The Rox are not that far away as the playoffs two years ago showed. The need some health and a few young veteran upgrades at 1,2,3... don't have to have stars but solid contributers like we had two years ago. That being the case Rodney Carney is a good combination of ready to contribute, potential star and solid 3rd option that the Rockets could hope for. He probably turns out to be a Richard Jefferson type guy or close enough. If anyone better falls then OK but Redick is probably too limited. He ain't gonna be AI. If we do not trade one of our fours then if we draft another 4 someone who could be statring is sitting on the end of the bench. Carney makes some pretty good sense.
Since75: i'm a huge tmac fan, but make no mistake, as of right now, yao is our best player. at this juncture, we don't even know if tmac will ever be 100% again because of his back injuries. looking back at the last 82 games of the year (and especially those after the allstar break), it's pretty obvious who our best player is. if tmac comes back and proves me wrong, i'd love it. considering he's my favorite player in the nba, i'd have no problem with that. but until he stops playing like a jump shooter with a bad paint allergy, i can't consider him the best player on the rockets.
