All I know is with Yao, Martin, and Lowry getting us in the bonus, Iggy should have it even easier on those finishes. Not to mention him and Lowry literally flying up the court on the break after they combine for the defensive stop. Or Iggy driving the lane in the halfcourt sets with Martin and Brooks hanging out on the perimeter.

Iguodala would catapult us to being WCF contenders, especially if we do not lose any key contributors outside of the SF position in the process.

Please let this be true! I like Ariza, but Iggy is just a better overall player. Philly will probably want a future 1st rd pick too, though, but I would still do it. Iggy has no weaknesses in his game other than his 3 pt shooting isn't where I would like it to be and he's turnover prone at times. However, he'll get better, more wide open looks from the outside here and wont have to handle the ball as much which will reduce his turnovers. His playmaking and passing abilities are underrated in my opinion. One last thing that people are overlooking is that Iggy is clutch! You can give him the ball at the end of the game and he can make big shots. He needs a change of scenery. Playing on that crappy team is bringing him down.

Here he is beating the Lakers by hitting a 3 over Ariza:

Here he is winning a playoff game against Orlando:

I'd still like to see the Rockets add Brad Miller to this lineup. They MUST add an experienced backup center with size.

The key here is you're getting Igoudala without losing any core players. I'd rather the team do this than get Granger but lose Brooks. Igoudala, Battier and Budinger would make us so well-rounded and deep at that position.

Dude I couldn't agree more, even though I like Granger a lot... If there's away to get Igoudala without giving up Brooks....SIGN ME UP :p

This would give us the slasher...but honestly Iguodala isn't much better at ballhandling than Ariza...his higher stats only corresponded with much higher usage rate. He's an improvement, but imo, not worth double the price.

Our lineup so far is like this.

Yao - Hill - Andersen (Miller)
    Scola - Hayes - Patterson - Jefferies
    Ariza - Battier - Chase - Jefferies
    Martin - Chase - Taylor
    Brooks - Lowry

    with perhaps Miller.

If we do the trade - Ariza, Jefferies, Hill for Iguodala and Smith (legit 7 footer)

our lineup would look like this.

Yao - Andersen - Smith (Miller)
    Scola - Hayes - Patterson
    Iguodala - Battier - Chase
    Martin - Chase - Taylor
    Brooks - Lowry

Our sf position would be one of our strongest and deepest. Iguodala plays big minutes and is an iron man. we would be set at every position. Iguodala is still young and still can improve. He's never played with a team this good. With this team he wouldn't have to be a number 1 option anymore. He would be 2nd-4th option. You see the lineup with ariza in it. its very deep but it isn't a strength. losing hill won't hurt much atleast not this year. I don't think he's ready to play center anyways.

I also forgot to mention. if martin gets injured, i'd much rather have iguodala playing sg than ariza. atleast our scoring doesn't drop off as much. I love ariza though. i still think he has a lot of room to improve. I want to see how he plays with yao and the team this year. I wouldn't mind if the trade didn't go through.

Ariza and Hill > Iguodala. I don't know folks, can Iguodala shine on a team like the rockets....maybe....maybe much more than the sixers

I like Iggy if the price is right. Picking him up for Hill, Ariza, and Jefferies is the right price. I wouldn't give up too much more. He seems like the type of guy who has to have the ball in his hands to make an impact and is occasionally dare i say a ball stopper. His low efficiency scares me, but he has talent. In general I hate to take on that much contract for a guy who isn't a full fledged superstar BUT....

I'm beginning to think Morey is taking the long approach to getting value with stars. In other words, A guy like Iggy is maybe a tad overpaid now, but with a contract expiring in 3 years, a likely lockout in one of those years and a new CBA in place before his next contract negotiation, maybe Morey is betting on the rules of the new CBA favoring teams in resigning players on their own roster to much more agreeable terms. I think everyone expects the financial concessions to come out of the player's pocketbooks in the next CBA. Maybe Iggy gets resigned under far more favorable conditions later on. I mean we have seen a couple of high profile players opt out of big contracts to collect a paycheck now thinking they may make less money in the new CBA - I'm sure some GMs are thinking about this too.

...anyway, maybe that's an angle we aren't thinking about here with regards to Iggy.
