his playoff performance is indicative of how he can shoot when someone else commands the defense's main attention, which is why he got better with Martin.
That and the shot he made when he caught the ball in mid air was my favorite, also if we do get Iggy anyone in our lineup could score 25-35 points any night Still a longshot we get Iggy thought
Damn, I know it's just highlights, almost all of them dunks, but the guy's right wrist must be a freakin' steel cable, you know? I think he would thrive in Adelman's system and in our team culture. The last three seasons, though, he's been taking too many treys. We'd have to cut down on that, as we have cats who are far better at it then Iggy is.
Not really. His regular season average that year with the lakers was .319 at all 82 games. He had Kobe then too. Thats why its a disparity, IMO. Not saying he hasn't improved since, but its fairly marginal.
To be fair, the only time Iguodala has ever had that luxury was during his second season, when he played along side Allen Iverson. He shot 50% from the field and 35% from 3-point range during that season. That was over 4 years ago.
Very athletic, but I did not notice too many dribbling moves in there, behind teh back, through the legs stuff to get seperation etc. Either way, I still do that deal. DD
I know, I'm aware of that. I just brought it up because the whole argument started with a mention of Iguodala's low 3-point %.
Then my bad! I think you have a point. His percentages from behind the arc just might go up with the Rockets, but it's not really what we'd have to have him do, IMO. Not as much as he's been doing for Philly, at any rate.
Considering neither Brooks or Martin are true play makers, Iggi could be that in our starting lineup. Brooks will thrive from not having to make all the plays on offense while Martin can keep being himself. Not to mention Iggi will dunk on homies if defenses sag on Yao. But like others mentioned, this move will put us in salary cap hell for the better part of this decade. As such, prying away one of Phili's assets will be crucial to getting this deal done.
I think we do need a deal BEFORE camp, there is no way Adelman can juggle 11 rotational players... DD
Agreed. Were he to become a Rocket, I think he would be more of an attack the rim guy. He was 19th in the league last year in free throw attempts, higher than any current Rocket, and 12th the year before that. Plus, he's a pretty good free throw shooter too at 75%. I think he's the muscular agressive type player that this team might need. I'm pretty sure he can get to the rim at will, and that is something that this team lacks at the moment in my opinion. I say let's go after him, he could bring something to this team that we haven't seen since a healthy....... well, you know who.
If there were really a deal here I'd do it BECAUSE OF Smith. The guy looks a DM the GM kind of guy; my kind of guy, too!
Plus I wouldn't want to see the rockets struggle for a week or two while the players adjust if we get a player during the season
I don't think you can trade for Hawes in a package with another player for another 2 months, August 17, 2010 to be exact. He can be traded by himself though. How bout 2 seperate trades. Ariza + Jeffries for Iguodala then Hill and possibly a 1st rounder for Hawes? I dunno if you can do that or not? Brooks/Lowry Martin/Budinger Iguodala/Battier Scola/Patterson Yao/Hawes/Hayes
I love this mix! The song goes perfectly with him. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XlyL7sLmsOI&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XlyL7sLmsOI&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
