He makes like twice what Ariza makes, no? Also, he might be a ball handler but he's not really a playmaker.
Id do that trade in a heartbate. But than I also feel bad for Ariza, he signed with us because we told him he would start and have a chance to develop here in Houston. But than we trade him after a year. What kind of message would taht send to FA's?
I look at their stats....both players are very similar except Iggy is a bit better at everything. He goes to the line more often and he's durable..never seem to miss a single game. I would do the deal simply because he ATTACKS the basket more than anybody.
but that's the reason we have those assets...to flip them for a star player. Plus, jefferies is on a time limit, after this year he's worthless to us, so only 2 of the 3 are long term assets and only one of those 2 has a shot at improving significantly in the future.
just cause Lowry is from Philly doesn't mean they are trying to deal for him. They have Holiday whos' game is similar to his but Holiday is younger, has more upside and is coming along nicely. He's almost a lock as their future PG next to Turner for the next few years. but I would love to keep hill if we could.
17.1/6.5/5.8 almost 2 steals a game in a down year, has only missed 6 games in 6 seasons! Slasher, scorer, great defender, he's only 26, has been an all star. He basically has Ariza's skillset but does all of it much much better. If you can get him without giving up Martin, Battier, AB, Lowry, and Bud it's a no brainer.
O.k. We'll give them Brooks for their 2011 first, top three protected. And we will just run with Lowry out there with Martin and Iggy until we trade for Paul at the deadline.
Iguoldala is better then Ariza, and we wouldn't have to give up budinger or any of our picks. This Smith guy doesn't look to be anything special, but he's only 24 and he can at least take some minutes off of Yao's load.
Brooks / Lowry Martin / Budinger / Taylor Iguadola / Battier Scola / Patterson / Smith Yao / Hayes / Andersen If we sign Miller, I guess Hayes will see his minutes at PF unless Patterson turns out to be a stud.
no, I've been on the Sixers RealGM board since last year when there was a rumored deal for Iggy. Sixerfan1976 is an insider
Iggy is a much better ball handler and slasher than Ariza, do it in a heartbeat. Hill is not ready to become a solid 12/7 contributor yet, we have to go for the ring before Yao's legs gives out for the final time.
Andre Iguodala 2010/2011 - $12,345,250 2011/2012 - $13,531,750 2012/2013 - $14,718,250 2013/2014 - $15,904,750 (player option)
i would do it but instead of Jefferies give them Andersen and sign Miller Brooks/Lowry Martin/C-Bud/Taylor Iggy/Battier/Jefferies Scola/Patterson/Smith Yao/Miller/Hayes i love to get Granger/McRoberts instead of Iggy/Smith but the pacers probably wouldnt do it
