Since the starter has been chosen and AB is still on the team, Rockets obviously think the opposite of your "IF".

If John Wall loses his speed, he can not even hit a 3 pointer. Pass on him.

They are two completely different players. They will be better than each other in different areas. Brooks will be a better shooter. Lowry will be more aggressive and drive more and be a better playmaker IMO. So if we need someone who will hit big threes in the clutch as well as make some nice passes, brooks is our guy. If we need a playmaker who will be aggressive and drive it to the hole, lowry is our guy. THIS IS IF WE HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE TWO.

Dude...the thread is ABOUT an insider from another message board (realgm) stating the Rockets were talking to the 76ers about Iguodala. :p

In any case, I don't think the 76ers would have the guts to trade the guy, especially since Morey isn't going to give up the farm to get him.

Yeah we have alt of gutless teams and GMs lately. The only ones who are brave enough and smart enough consistantly win. It looks like Miamis Pat Riley is a cut above the rest as usual. All fhese soward GMs who have gotten nothing done are merely getting the scraps now. They dont even want to do that because of the fear lately.

Part of the confusion may be that it looks like the Admins merged the RealGM thread with CHayesIsMyHero's proposed trade. For his trade, I can't see the Sixers cutting bait with Holiday already. For thetatomatis, it's a lot easier to not be afraid about gutting your team when you already know that 3 max free agents are going to sign with your club...

For AB, I like the player, love his hustle and speed; I just feel he's overvalued by Rockets fans. A PG with good 3-pt shooting but a ~1.5 A/TO ratio and mediocre defense is not what I'm looking for in a PG. A 6th man/"Zero"-Guard/"Microwave"-type, sure, but not a PG. Call me weird, I want my PGs to be able to, you know, actually pass effectively. And AB hasn't shown me that he can do that yet. He's averaged around a 1.5 A/TO for each of his three years, with increased usage each year, of course. I want to see it above 2.5, like Lowry, then we can talk about what a great PG Brooks is.

(BTW, Dave Berri's site has some excellent discussion of why Brooks had no business winning the MIP. They have a very big case of the Smug, but I find their analyses interesting. I think the award should have gone to Chris Andersen in Denver, but YMMV)

And for some of the more vehement posters to prefer AB to Paul...I don't know what to say. A healthy Chris Paul is one of the top 12 players in the NBA, by any metric you care to name. He distributes, he makes everyone better around him, he makes steals, he shoots well: he's everything you want in a PG and would give the Rockets instant respect from opponents and, more importantly, from officials. You do everything possible to get a player like that, occasional hissy-fit or not.

For the guys who are complaining about iggy's 3 pt shooting you do realize that carmelo only had 59-187 3pt shooting... i mean i know hes a way load better at taking it to the rim, and he great at the free throw line, but still just something i thought should be added, and also carmelo isnt a good defender i would say mediocre at best, and also iggy is overated on defense, he didnt do that well last year.

Yeah, my guess is that the 76ers want to try to see how the team looks with AI9 in the lineup with Turner and Holliday. AI9 still might be available at the trade deadline, but the team wants to see how he does on the court with the new players first.

BTW, those wondering about Iggy, here is a quote from Coach K about him at the USA Basketball camp right now. Think he would not be able to fit in with this Rockets team?

Why is this still open? Usually threads from other websites are locked unless they are substantiated.

Clutch must know something if he is leaving this thread open.

Come on Clutch...spill the beans !!!

Nobody is going to overwhelm Philadelphia for Iguodala. The Rockets certainly won't. We don't gain much over Ariza at all.

I got a feeling Phillie may also want Bud in that deal. This is probably why they are not bowled over. If so, i would try to get them to substitute Battier instead of Ariza.

Great post, Iggy would be awesome for us.

If we don't land CP3 or Melo, I feel Like Iggy is in Morey's pocket If he realllllly wants him.
