Now that I have your attention, read former Reagan budget director David Stockman's latest opinion in the New York Times, picture added for dramatic effect.

Oh, he mad. This is the kind of stuff Paul Krugman calls "cranky old man stuff". I can agree with both Stockman and Krugman. While I can nod my head along to most of what Stockman rants about, the last bit I bolded I do not entirely agree with.

I think Stockman may be sincere but this could present a rallying point for the GOP (and DNC) or a third party. There is definitely something to build on here.

Nothing will be done as long as well keep framing the root causes in accusatory, partisan terms that disproportionately critique individual policies and solutions over others.

Krugman wrote a more detailed editorial later.

I've been reading both's editorials over the years, but I haven't really cared much to get into details out of time and apathy...

Fiscal policy has NEVER been correctly implemented due to political pressures.
We are supposed to raise taxes and decrease spending to prevent bubbles and speculative activity, but that never happens. Politics and the economy do not mix.
