dammit we coulda just traded the #1 for chris mihm instead of drafting him. damn. now what if clevelend doesnt want ming?

seriously, hes not going anywhere. and i would not trade him for any less then an all star center. mihm is a stiff. i dont think hell amount to much more then a roleplayer.

i am extremely happy getting ming and cannot understand why some people dont want him. dont u think rockets management knows MORE about ming then you do? MUCH MORE????? seriously, you are basing your judgement off of tapes and what journalists *who dont know much more then you do* write about. i mean, come on. WE TOOK HIM WITH THE NUMBER ONE PICK.

these threads really piss me off.

Jerry West was VERY high on Ming, and wanted size, why not draft a potential franchise center. But since he couldn't get Ming, he still went with size, Drew Gooden. Memphis wasn't going after Jay Williams, they have Jason Williams. They weren't going after Dunleavy because they didn't have a place for him with Battier on the team along with Dickerson.

I think I have read most interviews with West considering the draft and I sure am not convinced he wanted Ming more then some of the other prospects ... I think they really wanted Dunleavy and it sure wouldn't be any more difficult finding him a spot then Gooden.

Man if you honesly think that Shaq only weighs 304 lbs then I'd like some of what you're smoking. He's easily in the 350 range. Also the only way Yao is going to put on 30 pounds of muscle before the start of the season is if he goes on the Sammy Sosa training program, and since the NBA does test for steriods that wouldn't bode well for Yao. Also, unless he gains those extra 30 pounds in his legs it will slow him down.

I thought he weighed in at 380 during the playoffs and since he's not playing right now he's probably gonna be 400 by the time camp starts.

spunk is good in some context, but ridiculous comparisons makes the spunk look like an uninformed basketball fan! you do not solve the allegeded issue by trading for these guys. I am minger all the way, but making comparisons like that are whacky. if Ming just averages 11/6...he is as good as any of those guys...I dare say that the three he mentioned will not out perform Ming...nice try though. Give me Smits and Sabonis over those dudes any day.

We'll have to see how Ming pans out, Lafrentz would fit in nicely tho. But Mihm? You must be nuttier than suirrel turds.

Lafrentz prefers to play outside the paint. He is also basically an outside shooter who rebounds fairly well and is a fairly decent shotblocker and sometimes dunks well, but he is inconsistant and tends to disappear in a lot of games. He also has a large contract.
He is not the answer to our problems.Maybe Ming won't ever develop a strong back to the basket game, but he has upside and if he gets physically stronger he might become at least as good as Lafrentz. Clark is a good player but I get the feeling he will stop working hard after getting a big paycheck, and isn't a strongly built physical player. Mihm is a backup center at best.

Keon Clark would be a good 4 man but not center full time. Raef, if you didn't see the way everyone and thee mama abused him , then why would you even propose for him. Mihm, the jury is still out on him. I personally like him and think he will be a good nba center if he's just given the chance. I wouldn't trade Ming for none of them. In time , soon people will see how much easier he will make the game for the Rockets.

No. No. No. Please think. Think think think. Yao Ming. High post. Passer. Gamer. Shooter. Please think. Chris Mihm? What ARE you thinking? I think I know, unfortunately. Please don't think like that...it's...unseemly. Just seeing that kind of slant on the bbs makes me feel sort of...dirty. Please wash your hands before typing.

Can't we at least see Ming play for a while before we start the trade talk? I'm no longer amazed at the "He sucks...", "Let's trade..." Steve, Cat, Et al talk I see here on the BBS. The Man has never even played on our Continent, much less our team and I'm being asked to evaluate his trade value?
