It's tacky to call her Nimarata just like it was tacky for conservatives to say "Barack Hussein Obama"

 

I can agree with his comment. I suspect the person bringing it up was intending to point out that while she was suggesting times were better in the past, it was a past that she thought it necessary to change her name to be accepted. Unlike President Obama and VP Harris, among others who kept their names.

The other difference, or course, was that the critics of used Hussein (and Kamara) in completely different ways and reasons).

 

I don't think those who say "Hussein" or "Kamara" will see the subtlety you suggest. They'll just see validation of their dumb tactics.

 

Don't think any of the those who say Hussein or Kamara see anything other the lies and hatred pushed out by the current republican party... so it doesn't matter.

Honestly, had a cushy childhood, but not much on the faith or country stuff. Family sure. But family hasn't gone anywhere. She's calling me back to a time that was never part of my heritage.
