Reading Courtney Lee's lips from the bench, talking about Beverley: "KK... screen the f*** outta him

I'm watching the replay of the game on NBA TV, and Beverley was playing too hard and being too animated for the Grizzlies liking.

At 7:50 in the 2nd quarter, Beverley draws a foul and pumps his fist, and then the camera cuts to Courtney Lee on the bench saying:

"KK...KK... screen the f*** outta him". I guess talking to Kosta Koufos.

Couple of plays later, Jon Leuer levels Beverley on a screen.

    Anybody else noticed that?

I'm sure players do this a lot, Bev probably pissed him off on a previous play or something.

Might have been because Koufus gave two pretty terrible screens before that one.

I'd say that's typical advice from a vet.

I had floor seats to the game last night. Amazing all of the little details you miss on TV. I remember that play. I sat right behind Harden when he nailed that three for the four point play. You hear a lot more talking on defense, and its very clear when players are getting frustrated. Last night, Nick Johnson was having a tough time bringing up the ball against the Memphis guards, and you could see the frustration, and see him cursing under his breath. One of the cooler plays was on transition defense, the Rockets all got back, so Memphis pulled out the ball to run a play. James Harden called out the play on defense, and Beverley got a steal on that possession. It was also really cool to talk with the refs. The refs were jovial during time outs. The players and refs definitely hear you that close, and we were cheering on Paps defense (in spite of crappy foul calls), and telling the players they were looking good. They seemed appreciative.

Why would he tell a teammate to screen an opposing player?

    Just odd.

Loving what I'm seeing from Beverley this year. Don't know how he plays with such intensity but if he can keep it up he'll have a great year and reinforce his rep as a top-notch defender.

He's going to see a lot of those hard picks, but I'm not sure he's even trying to avoid them. Looks like a free safety out there at times.

Bring him back to come off our bench! He'd be awesome backing up Harden!

I was about four rows back and caught a lot of little things too like Nick Johnson's crappy body language and Tariq Black being vocal as hell defensively.

Also, Jeff Adrien is a huge human being. The dude looks like he would give Dwight a run for his money in the weight room.

Yeah. I forgot who tweeted it out.

But I saw something about Vince carter saying tone it down or some **** like that, so bev replied back with something about being all defense second team.

Pat Bev remains the biggest troll in the league and I love it.

Thank goodness I am not the only noticing how big Adrien really is. He is a lengthy legit 6'7" who will possibly end up as our starting PF. That man looks and plays big, unlike the pillowcases in Jones and D-Mo.

And BEV jumped right up and pumps his fist again!

So Grizz didn't get pissed off at Ariza for getting 3 steals in the 1st qtr?
