some of you have your head so far up your politics is laughable.........

brothers and sisters they are all in on the same game. why do you think they are so cocky and arrogant? the dems and repubs (at least most of them) are not much different when you strip away the spin and cloaks. the dems have been lashing out agains the tea party sinces its inception. you see the blue blood repubs coming out against them as harshly as some dems are. why do you think both sides fear the tea party movement so much? answer: they don't control it and they cannot control it becauses its a movement of the people, not a particular political party.

personally I hope the purge this fall is huge and continues on in another 2 years and so on and so on.... its refreshing to see the people finally speaking out and I would have to attribute the internet and the modern non-mainstream media folks for perpetuating this exchange of information the rapid growth.

One of the things I have noticed over the years is that when there is a deficit with a Repub President and a Dem Congress, wingers always point out that Congress appropriates the money. However, when there is a Repub Congres with a Dem president, it's the President's fault.

And when both Congress and the WH are held by Repubs, deficits aren't mentioned.

An article in today's WaPo on the tea party movement might change your opinion about the group.

    Here's a taste

Please explain what I said was false. Two posters came out and responded to the article and the OP by blaming Bush and Fox news. How much sense does that make? Now why not call them out on that?

I admit I may have gotten carried away with doing the same and blaming Pelosi. Its obvious I am not fond of her but apparently most Americans agree.

Stop trying to pretend and come across as balaned and centered when you clearly are not. I dont claim to be and I can admit to it.

You keep making fun of Fox news but the same can be said about the WaPo from the otherside. Don't you see that?
Are there crazy nuts in the Tea Party? Sure there are but there are also crazy nutty Democrats and Republicans.. If you want to focus on looney or ignorant supporters I'm sure you can find just as many if not more that support the Republicans or the Democrats. But for some reason the news organizations just want to focus on crazy tea party supporters.

Putting the blame on Bush for spending originated under Bush seems pretty appropriate.

I didn't blame Fox, I blamed the sucker who believed them.

Have you ever actually watched Fox news? Take out Glenn Beck and O'Reilly (he's acutally toned down quite a bit Use to hate the guy but if you listen to him he actually comes off as very logical. Sure he says some extreme things but I think thats all for the ratings). Anyway take out the commentators and the actual news is no more worse or better than CNN/ABC,MSNBC,WaPo, etc etc. Sure its obvious they lean to the right but it's also obvious that the other news organizations lean to the left. I say you just watch what fits your taste.
Or you can watch local news where all they do is try to scare you. "LEARN WHAT COMMON HOUSEHOLD CLEANER CAN KILL YOU AND YOUR BABY.. ALL COMING UP NEXT AFTER THE BREAK"

Here is the reference guide from page 2 of the manual.

    1. Democratic president + Democratic Congress + growth in deficit = out of control liberal spending

    2. Democratic president + Republican Congress + growth in deficit = unlikely to occur due to Republican blocking

    3. Democratic president + Republican Congress + balanced budget = Congress controls the money!

    4. Republican president + Democratic Congress + growth in deficit = Congress controls the money!

    5. Republican president + Republican Congress + growth in deficit = Deficits don't matter!

    6. Republican president + Republican Congress + balanced budget OR Republican President + Democratic Congress + balanced budget = LOL When has a Republican president ever had a balanced budget?

Do we really need to go through this again...

You wrote "agreed" in response to the silly article and commentary posted by OddsOn. As is simply shown in the chart Major posted, the premise is absurdly faulty.

Can you ever not embellish? They correctly blamed Bush (among others). Fox news was cited as a (probable) source for the erroneous conclusion in the OPs commentary.

A heck of a lot more than blaming our cumulative deficit on Pelosi.

Because what they said was true. Neat how it works, huh?

Americans pretty much dislike everyone in congress. The problem is that the alternatives always suck worse, amazingly. This seems particularly true with a certain loony bin "third party" this year.

I am balanced. I am not centered. I honestly dislike both parties.

Regardless of what the previous regime did, how can the statement 'Pay as you Go' be true and we have a growing deficit?

I don't care to look up facts about it, but you can't blame it all on the Speaker either. No doubt she has political preassure to push thorugh spending that Obama and others need for whatever it is they're trying to do...and the spending that needs to be cut is the spenidng they don't see as politically important. Not taking blame off her, but there are obvious flaws in the system beyond what individuals do.

    One more...

Dem Congress + Dem President + deficit reduction or surplus = need for high income tax breaks.

Nancy Pelosi is a typical politician. One of the Wealthiest politicians in the country from a state that is a financial nightmare.

California is the epitome of the vilification of business and over-regulation which creates excess unemployment and a huge gap between the rich and the poor.

Bringing foolish Californiaesque policies to the rest of the nation is not a good idea.

Both parties waste a lot of money, but Pelosi is really bad.

Quit pretending that the Tea Party is some bi-partisan group, they are an even more right-wing extension of the Republican party who can't wait to go out and vote Republican in the next election. Where were they during the Bush years? They have no ideas on how to actually fix things in this country besides screaming their usual talking points of "Freedom! Liberty! Less government!"

I have relatives and even some friends who claim to belong to the Tea Party and they are about as politically ignorant as they come. They somehow believe that screaming louder than the other side makes them right..

Although I do fear the Tea Party in the sense they have actually gotten extreme wingnuts such as Angle and O'Donnell into positions where they can win.

Actually it isn't obvious that other news organizations with the possible exception of MSNBC have left leaning bias.

It just isn't true at all. They have biases, and sometimes those work in favor of the left, and sometimes they work in favor of the right. They've even gone so far as to ignore facts, or pretend facts were just opinions in order to appear fair to the right.

Um....pretty sure the Republicans don't fear the tea party...LOL..

Well, check that. I'm (still) a Republican and I fear the tea party. Why? Because they are loud, proud......and STUPID. Most of them have NO IDEA what they're so mad about. They're taking over my party with their empty bumper-sticker slogans and making us all look like a bunch of idiots. It's embarrassing.

The whole movement is just one gigantic hissy-fit because a Democrat won the Presidency. That's all it is.

All I can do is go "Yoda" (into exile, I must go) until Palin and the rest of her nutjob, tea-bagging, brain-dead followers hopefully go the way of the Reform Party.
