    I like these moves.

But I would have also liked to have seen Scola and Martin get moved as well, we need a youth movement, not more mediocre players.

Good riddance to Battier, he got ripped off hard on Brooks though.

i'm starting to think that brooks for flynn wasn't such a bad deal after all ;)

While i am fine with the Memphis trade, i am befuddled by the brooks trade, largely because i don't know enough about Dragic. But he has a couple of 10 assist games this year, and when he gets 30 minutes + he seems to really play well. The kid could be a real contributor for us, but i don't like the pick. I don't think we got enough for Brooks, especially considering how great he was last year. I think we sold way too low on Brooks. Then again, i don't know what else was being offered. Plus if a team signed Brooks to an offer sheet this offseason, we would have lost him for nothing. No way we were going to match, and other GMs knew it. So i guess i'm glad we moved him. Just wish is was for more.

This is what happens when an owner and general manager can't decide on whether to rebuild or not.

bingo. we're officially moving into rebuilding mode with these acquisitions, the players we currently have on the roster are all just placekeepers until we package them (or draft) for a superstar.

hopefully we can re-sign Battier in the off-season and I hope Morey has another trade (that actually materializes) in the works. We still have a decent team but no leader. Scola and Hayes maybe?

Can you quickly put up a chart on how much we got ripped off? Also, a line graph of Battier's decline would be nice...

I hate when people say "this draft class sucks" before any of them has played a single nba game...or even worked out with an nba team.

I've been working on a tell-all expose of Morey's incompetence for a while now and it will be released soon. As for Battier, there is no use in beating a dead horse. I'm glad to be rid of him and I've already posted numerous graphs detailing his failures.

This will only happen if either Scola or Martin is moved during the off season or the next year's trading deadline. They won't have that much cap space unless they can move both or just one. I would much rather them move Scola.

Is this the thread where we ask questions and punctuate them with periods.

I have a friend who is a scout and his opinion, as well as many in the league, is the best players will wait another year to come out. This is what the potential draftees are telling him. Mainly because of a possible lockout and the unknowns of the new CBA. So this draft class could likely end up being mainly seniors and those who will come out early to move up in position. Meaning those who otherwise would've been second rounders or worse.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine in Detroit texted me about an hour after the deadline to say "Why is your GM so gangsta? Two more first round picks?!?!"

It's amazing how disappointed we are when this outsider, a VERY knowledgeable NBA fan, is impressed with the moves that the Rockets made.

We were not competing, we lost tmac and yao, and we are about to enter a new era in the nba with the lock out and all of those uncertainties, its sad that we lost Shane and AB but i think those were good moves going forward.
