LOL.....ok......by long term I was thinking relative to JJ's age and that would be about 4 years with the Rox holding the option on the last year at a reasonable figure over the vet min and at just under a million a year with a million per being the ceiling. The Rockets history of injuries recently would make JJ an excellent rotational backup to TMac at the three and if the team were to sign James and another "stroker" who could swing (2 and a 3) it would force teams to defend the perimeter more aggressively and allow the team to kick it back in to Yao and a slashing Tmac. Sorry for the double post (didn't think the first post initially went through). Is Wesley Person available? My point is that the team should be designed to have a deep bench with veteran long range "strokers" to compliment the youth we now have in the event of injuries and for lockerroom and bench presense. "All- I- am saaay-iiiing.....is......give Jim a chance..." C'mon!! touch your monitors with me.....feel the powah!!!!
Jackson just had a season in which he averaged 0.294 FG%, 0.243 3P%, and 0.692 FT%. That's RyBoesque. The guy is BEYOND done. What good is a spot up shooter who completely sucks at shooting? And you want to give him a multi-year deal?
Sorry, you do not get the latest memo. Ex Rockets reunion party is rescheduled to 2016, not 2006 anymore.
Well in light of the "new direction" our team is going in, I think this thread needs a bump. I really think Jim Jackson can provide some seriouis guidance and stability for the Rockets and specifically for Shane Battier moves into his early 30's. JJ has been there, and can be a role model as far as you know, finding a new apartment in a strange city, or raising teenaged children. Plus I don't know about you but I'm excited for all the charity fundraiser potential Battier has and I think JJ can help him out as far as calling all his friends in different cities and hitting them up for contributions. On the court, he'll provide a lot more depth as we set our sights on the 8th seed in 2007 (or bust!) with his outside shooting and poised leadership....when you want to get to the first round of the playoffs, let's face it, you need guys who have been there before. Hey, what's Shandon Anderson's status in Miami? Talk about your veteran role player/winners!!!!
