I wouldn't mind signing him as long as he is real cheap, like maybe 1million or less but that's it. He could be that decent someone to help back-up T-mac.
I was thinking of posting that he averaged 3.0ppg last year.. Or that he shot below 30% from the field.. Or that he's turning 36 in October... But I figured someone would just tell me that numbers don't tell the whole story. So screw it, let's sign him up long term. 4 years/19M sounds fair to me.
Jim Jackson has tremendous talent. It is a pitty he has never been able to find a stable home for Basketball.
Nothing against Jim Jackson, but a problem would be created. The Rockets would be stymied because JVG would play him as a vet, it would take away from the training of younger player who should be having careers with the Rockets. JVG must be forced into coaching and playing our young players and building a long running team around Yao Ming. The answer to our championship is three seasons in the building --NO MORE QUICK FIX --PLEASE SEE BELOW--
...while we're at it, let's also sign Derek Harper and Jamaal Mashburn to long term contracts. I here there's a run on old Mavs.
