Re-Sign Dragic and Use Him As Trade Bait At Trade Deadline?

    Why would we plan to trade Dragic and assume Lillard is going to be Chris Paul before the draft has even occurred?

    Please, tell me more about the way to go.

    you can't trade free agent to be on draft day
    you can't talk to them about contract until july 1st
    they can't sign until a week later

    I never said anything about assuming Lillard is going to be a Star. What I'm saying is...if Lillard, over the first half of the season, is averaging 16 and 7 per game, we should explore the idea of trading Goran (at that point) and see what we could get in return.

    At that point, there would be no point in keeping Dragic AND Lillard...especially if the market for Dragic would still be very good.

    (I realize this is all hypothetical, and pointless if we don't draft Lillard, but it's pre-Draft time and I like to speculate)
