Ray Rice met his wife when they were in high school and they started dating before he was drafted so she may not qualify as being a groupie with no self respect as you call her.

I think Ray Rice will sue the NFL and they'll settle with him out of court.

On what possible grounds would he sue?

The NFL already punished Rice on the grounds that he punched her and she got knocked unconscious. The video does not show anything that the NFL did not already know...yet, they are punishing him further, even though no new evidence has come to light.

As far as this avenue is concerned, Rice has every right to sue the NFL. This was Goodell's screw up.

Something's seriously wrong with that guy. First, clearly in the elevator Ray moves towards her and hits her, then she hits back, and he backs off. She comes toward him, and he decks her.

But this guy is trying to make all kinds of excuses for something that is completely obvious to almost anyone else, so I don't know what his deal is. It's ultimately one long justification for Rice's actions, which is scary.

After seeing that video just now several times, I conclude this guy is even more of a moron. She spits on him, he hits her and moves back, and then she moves towards him AFTER he hits her the first time. Then he decks her- Jesus, how much more clear can it be? Pathetic.

To be honest, I had originally concluded exactly as you just said...but his comments made me think I was watching an abridged version of the video. I thought maybe there was more to the video in the elevator and I just saw a shortened copy of it.

Yeah, crazy to even attempt to justify Rice's actions.

All they have to do is say that they didn't see the video and that Ray Rice and his fiancee lied about what happened. They can say that upon further evidence and as a result of lying to them, a longer suspension was warranted. Case closed.

The NFL cant just make up something...theyd have to go through an actual trial. Rice's attorney was present and Im sure a lot of what took place was documented. From what I hear, Rice told the story exactly as it unfolded on the video.

And if a jury is deciding, are they really going to believe that the NFL didnt have the necessary evidence at hand? Isnt it quite obvious, from the first video released, that Ray Rice knocked Janay out? It's not like he gave her a high five and then she went unconscious. Everyone knew that Rice punched her. The video doesnt give anyone "new" information.

Rice has a case here if he chooses to follow through with it. On the other hand, Goodell might tell him that he'd be reinstated for next season if he doesnt pursue legal action. In any case, this is all a result of the NFL not doing their job properly or deciding to be shady as ****. My guess is that they're shady as ****.

They'd have to prove that in the opinion of the league that they didn't play down the incident while proving that the commissioner saw the video ahead of time to have a case at all. Odds are the case would be quickly dismissed if he even brought it in the first place.

Instead of blaming the league for punishing Ray Rice, why not just blame Ray Rice for assaulting his fiancee?

Ray Rice was already punished by the league for his actions. However, because the public saw something that was already known, the league punished him again. This is the part that is not right.

Rice should have been suspended for the year from the outset...Im not defending Rice's actions. However, the league screwed up big time here.

    Here is another article:

    http://www.brothersonsports.com/ray-rice-cut-by-ravens-may-be-able-to-sue-nfl/

And if you dont want to read, here is a little excerpt:

It's ridiculous to think that the NFL made their initial judgment not knowing that Rice hit Janay. Everyone knew he hit her...the video released is not new evidence. That was already established at the time of Rice's 2 game ban.

Can you prove that Ray Rice told them exactly what happened without sugar coating it at all? Can you prove that they saw the full video?

Also when it comes to "double jeopardy", they can just say that his punishment was re-evaluated once new evidence popped up or they can say that they are punishing him for not being fully truthful with them if he in any way sugar coated what happened.

Extending the suspension is exactly what is right, not doing so would be the league "screwing up big time"

I think the assumption that at least I was going on, is that they portrayed this as a self defense situation . From seeing the video, that clearly wasn't the case. I expect that will be the league's justification for the harsher penalty after seeing the video.

Unless anyone can prove that the NFL saw the new video, then the NFL viewing it is new evidence.

You calling me a moron proves nothing but that you are closed minded.

She spits on him and then tries to hit him, which he blocks..he doesn't hit her but once in the video as far as I can see. And how do you count spitting on someone as a non-violent act anyway? People have personal space rights as a human being. Nevertheless, if you don't see her hit him in the face first, you must be blind. Him raising his arms was to block/stop her initial attempts to hit him and then he moves away to try to de-escalate the confrontation.

They were close together upon entering the elevator because they were both at the numbers it seems to push whatever floor they were going to.

Your view of the events in the elevator are clouded by what reporters and news reports are saying so that you are not using your own eyes to see what clearly happened.

I don't know what their previous relationship status was in relationship to domestic violence before this incident happened, other than they both said it was the first time. Sure, she and he could both be lying, but no family members, friends or anyone else has stepped up to say that this was a pattern and they he was domestically abusing her before this event happened.

To make a fight in which she clearly initiates and he retaliates into a domestic abuse case degrades the real horror of domestic abuse that goes on in homes every day in this world.

I will say it again, if the same thing happen with two men, one spit on the other and then tried to hit him and then the bigger one knocked him out, I don't know if it would even be considered a crime or bad at all. Just a fight in which one party that was stupid enough to pick a fight with a more powerful party, got knocked out.

Women should have equal rights as men including equal pay for equal work and the right not to be abused. The right doesn't give them the right to spit on a man and/or hit a man with the assumption that he can not defend himself solely because she was born a woman.

We can do screenshots of the video if you want to prove that your narrative is wrong. Just saying because you clearly are seeing what the media wants you to see, not what really happened in that video.
