It doesn't matter what I think. Kobe Bryant has been on record saying Shane Battier defends him the best. He said it without thinking.
I vote for none of them. Kobe still burns the **** out of people regardless of who's on him. His pull up jumper is just too sick.
Until we can start getting some data to do REAL analysis, I just trust what Morey said about Battier (and Ariza), that these guys are special players. Fans can see Ray and Tony Allen sticking to Kobe, but how many people would pay attention to Shane forcing Kobe to catch the ball two feet away from his usual starting spot? How many of us check to see where the help defense comes from and which side of the court it forces the pass to? If you read the book "the art of a beautiful game", they mentioned one play against that Cavs where Lebron went 7 for 21 but Shane was bothered by one play Szerbiack driving on him after the game. That was because Shane KNEW Wally has only drove 31 times the whole season and the drive surprised him. If you haven't read this article, you haven't begun to peek into Battier's basketball genius. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/15/magazine/15Battier-t.html?pagewanted=all
I said speed. It has nothing to do with toughness, just physical limitations. Remember, Ron gets his ass blown by every single time now...
