i'm gonna assume that Allen got him lower than his junk, and that's why there was no reaction. just a shot to the inner thigh
What I saw: VarryJao holds Allen's arm under his armpit, swings him around using leverage to throw him down. Allen throws an elbow. Varejao keeps walking towards Allen. Cheap shot, but not sure if it was aimed at the balls. Varejao deserved it though, because of the play alone. I'm not even talking about anything previously.
Obviously you aren't very familiar with Varajeo. He is one the cheapest floppers in the NBA. So when he gets a little of his own medicine, I find it amusing.
It was a reaction to Vareflop locking Allen's elbow to his chest when in a vulnerable position, which could have caused an elbow or shoulder injury. If you've had that done to you, you know how painful that is. Vareflop deserved some retribution.
I'm very familiar. However, elbowing a man in the groin is disgusting. To compare flopping and cheap shots is ridiculous. If Allen had gotten up, got in his face, maybe gave him a bump or something, it would have been different. However, when you hit another man in the groin, you're just a b****.
There's a difference between not backing down from someone and taking a cheap shot. Allen took a cheap shot.
I think the most funny part is Allen's elbow probably had more force than anything Varejao's flopped on.
I bet if it had been Deron Williams or Carlos Boozer elbowing him in the nuts, you'd all be singing a different tune.
I agree with Ashes, so what if Varejao is a flopper, we have floppers on our team as well would you guys be happy with that? Lol there is always a double standard with people...I think Allen took a cheap shot and is what he is..but i cant say it Chilcutt
That was pretty uncharacteristic of Ray. Looks like the KG influence on him is coming to light. I understand he was dragged down by Varejao, but hitting him in the balls is messed up. If he wanted to retaliate, he should have dragged him to the ground (just like what was done to him) or stood up and gotten up in Varejao's face.
As mentioned before, Varejao clearly hooked Allen and threw him to the ground. You can see a good angle at 1:20 on the video. Allen was off balance, Varejao had better position and a good 50 lbs and 6" on Allen. Varejao has a reputation as a dirty player. He flops, he slaps, and he's an irritant. With his reputation, if he threw you down, you would retaliate, too. Especially given the situation of a big stage and the frustration the Celtics were having all day. That doesn't excuse Allen for throwing the cheap shot. He didn't even make an attempt to get up before throwing the elbow backwards. But Varejao also goaded Allen into retaliating by standing over him. The double technical is enough to me. Allen doesn't have a track record of bad behavior. Whatever happens, though, I will cherish replaying the video from 1:24 to 1:26. An extra bit of satisfaction is Breen saying "Ohhh! There it is!" when it clearly isn't there.
Allen's looking down at the other end of the court. Then out of nowhere he gets thrown down to the ground. Of course, he's going to react.
