http://www.nba.com/2011/news/featur...ning-tip-ray-allen/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1 Ray Ray needs 4 more threes to pass Reggie Miller to become the all time 3 pointers made leader. Another surprising tidbit I didn't know: Jason Kidd is 3rd all time in three pointers Lock if already posted
Peja- 779 games - 1,718 3PM!!! That is amazing for so few games. If he played the same amount of games as Ray, they might be competing for the record.
I'm not saying he's still a bad shooter, it's just that in his younger days he was a notoriously bad shooter and I think his nickname was Ason since he had no J lol. I know he's shooting pretty good now, but you can't say that the majority of those 3's he made was with the mavs
Not too surprising. The 3 point line was implemented in 1979, and the game's focus has switched to more of a perimeter-oriented game over the past decade.
I think the whole league is taking more 3pt shots in recent years. The recent emergence of statistical analysis also brings to the attention that the 3pt shot is second only to at-rim shots in term of efficiency.
Rashard Lewis has a chance to challenge. He's about 900 behind Miller/Allen, but he's averaged over 200 3's per season the last 3 years. His pace has fallen this year, but he's only 31, and big men who can shoot can play for a long time. The only question will be how long he stays around. He's only 80 3's behind Kidd for 3rd place, so he'll take over that probably the season after Kidd retires.
