http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/10/ravens-fire-cam-cameron-promote-jim-caldwell/ Jim Caldwell promoted. Ravens might not be a cake-walk in the playoffs after all if they can get back to what was working early in the season on offense. And they'll have Ray Lewis back soon.
If Caldwell's gameplan is to have Rice run more and Flacco throw less, then it is an improvement and it doesn't matter if he is 'good' or not.
Ravens are TOAST. They won some games early on that they should have lost, and like the Bears, it is all evening out. Their defense is not what it used to be.
This is a desperation move but the Ravens had nothing to lose. It was clear they weren't going anywhere in the playoffs with Cameron as OC. In this case, perhaps making changes just to shake things up will give the remaining staff and players more urgency and focus. Ravens lost their mojo early in the season. IMO, the Steelers as the #6 seed with a healthy Big Ben are more dangerous in the playoffs. All the Texas need to do is secure the #1 seed and we can start speculating if it will be the Broncos or Pats coming to Houston to play for a Super Bowl berth.
It seems so simple, but if Cam Cameron never saw it, he probably brainwashed everyone on the Ravens to think the same thing. It's amazing how despite all the talk about Flacco looking good and the hurry-up, he's on pace to finish really close to his 2009 and 2011 season averages. He just doesn't improve. The Texans homer in me is disappointed. I was thrilled to see that they extended Cameron in the offseason.
I agree with you.... we should beat either the Ravens or the Steelers. I still think the Ravens find a way to win the North.
Sh***ing the bed isn't a strong enough phrase for how bad the Steelers messed up their playoff chances yesterday.
They have to beat Bengals now. Pretty much it comes down to the winner of that game taking the last wild card spot I think.
they have a bad ass running back and a bad ass receiver tandom. bouldin is used nearly enough. he would be my go to guy, like dallas used to used irvin and had the speed guys on the outside. flacco has a strong arm, think he still has a lot to learn.
The fantasy footballer in me is hopeful for next year, but the Texans fan is disappointed because it was nice watching the Ravens flounder on the road trying to make Flacco into Marino....
