Forgetting Sarah Marshall: 9/10... Great f'n movie..but didn't get to see the end b/c the DVD messed up... Case 39: 6.5/10 Too predictable and not very scary or suspenseful... Jamon Jamon: 8.5/10 Pennelope Cruz (bewbs) and Javier Bardem when they were younger...
127 Hours - A - Just an amazing movie from Boyle and Franco. Aliens on Bluray B+ best the film has ever looked, film really holds up well over time. Alien3 on Bluray C+ looks good on HD but not as good the first two, HD just makes the horrid CGI on the alien look even worse.
I just watched The Machinist. It was good, but Christian Bale almost made me vomit with the way he looked.
Date Night Outside of one hilarious scene that is so beyond ridiculous you just have to belt out laughing, they movie is just ok. Was like an Adventures in Babysitting with adults. Rather forgettable though. 6/10
I'm not sure what scene you are referring to. To me, it seemed like a lame action movie rather than a comedy. I don't remember a single funny scene.
Make It Happen No rating. It was a bad movie. The only saving grace was the lead actress Mary Winstead who was so pretty with all her different hairstyles. It didn't get rid of the blues for me which I had at the time but again Mary Winstead is pretty.
Monsters (warning, auto-music) 7/10 Synopsis: Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and grow. In an effort to stem the destruction that resulted, half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain the massive creatures... Our story begins when a jaded US journalist (McNairy) begrudgingly agrees to find his boss’ daughter, a shaken American tourist (Able) and escort her through the infected zone to the safety of the US border. It's an Indie flick. Lots of funky camera angles and people staring off into space, having conversations you can't hear over the superimposed mood music. The aliens are cool once you see them. And you don't see them too much. Not a ton of action, which is a con for me. Worth a redbox or netflix rental when it comes out on disc or streaming. Oh yeah, main guy has a tramp stamp.
Being way too nice with Monsters. From your description it doesn't warrant a 7/10 either. The girl is cute though.
Spoiler the scene were the Bugatti or whatever it was got fused to the taxi cab. Yeah it was beyond stupid; there's no way they'd stay stuck together like that. But just the reaction of the taxi driver had me laughing Other than that it was pretty average. Not a lot of comedies these days make me laugh constantly. This one was no different.
The Wackness - 5/10. It was kinda wack. 5 out of 10 instead of 4 because there are some good songs on the soundtrack. Beer Wars. 6/10. If you drink beer and you aren't familiar with how beer is distributed and the ins and outs of the beer industry, you should watch it. If you've been in the business, probably not worth the time. If the person who made the movie was actually into beer, I'm sure it would have been much better.
Grown Ups: 8.5/10 had some good funny parts, stupid sophmore humor parts...and the daughters were f'n hot...so was salma...
Unstoppable - 2.1/10 What a piece of crap. Most pointless and dumb plot ever created. Its right up there with Grown Ups as worst movie of 2010
From 10 seconds into the first time I ever saw a trailer for this movie, I knew I didn't want to watch it.
Watched a bunch of movies on roundtrip flight to Hong Kong: The Other Guys - 8/10. Hilarious movie. Predators - 7/10. Pretty entertaining movie, definitely better than I thought it would be. Robin Hood - 7/10. A little slow but better than I thought it would be. Dinner for Schmucks - 2/10. Turned it off half-way, I heard the dinner scene is the funniest part but couldn't even make it to that. Get Him to the Greek - 6/10. Had some funny moments.
love and other drugs - 3/10 - i wanted to like anne hathaway's character, but her acting was insufferable to the point that it distracted me from everything else. the drug-rep history-of-pfizer storyline was intriguing for awhile, but eventually got smothered by the formulaic bullsh#t that goes on in every dating movie. like every decent romance, i'm with them until the inevitable last 30 minutes when the male lead expresses his love for the female in front of a bus of cooing old people and everything works out peachy. give me a friggin break. if any love story shouldn't have a happy ending, it's this one. seriously, SEE this movie, and you'll know what i'm talking about. but definitely wait til its out on video. (3 stars for multiple nude scenes). moral of the story: read reviews before you see a movie.
Watched this last night with the uncles. Its a modern day Scarface movie. It shows corruption, nudity, betrayal, blood and it's happening in our backyard. My rating for it is an 8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1rBt5Tt33Y&feature=related
Love and other drugs - 4/10 - Anne Hatheway naked scenes only plus for me. Morning Glory - 5/10 - Okay, I just enjoy Rachael Mcadams.
