It was a movie-watching weekend. The Grapes of Wrath - 9.0/10.0 Great classic movie that has stood the test of time. It's socialist propaganda can be forgiven, because it's just a great movie. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - 7.0/10.0 Meets expectations. Well-done cheesy Disney action flick. MacGruber - 3.0/10.0 Just terrible.
Kickass The previews definitely don't do this movie justice. Wow. Pretty much all the fight scenes with Hit Girl are perfectly executed, especially the one with the lights out; unbelievable. My only minor complaints come at the end...a little bit of fail there. 8/10
I just saw it also. Kick-Ass is one of the best movies ive seen in a while. I wish i would have seen this in theatres Hit-Girl stole the show and I think the movie would have sucked without her. That rescue scene at the end gave me freaking goosebumps!! The music for the scene was ****ing awesome and has gotten me interested in movie scores. Its something i can picture myself doing with my life. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EcbjwxsETKE?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EcbjwxsETKE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> I also agree the ending where they leave flyin was a bit corny..but meh..whatever.. cant wait for part 2 ..Balls to the Wall!!
The Human Centipede - 7/10 Nasty stuff, but entertaining A Perfect Getaway - 6/10 Get Him to the Greek - 8/10 Very Funny. Furry Wall.. lol Robin Hood - 5/10 Glad I didn't pay money to see it in the theater Splinter - 5/10 Bad horror movie.
Boiler Spoiler FREAKING Room!!! 8/10 Would've been a perfect 10 for 10 minus the stupid love scene. Thanks to this movie my LED sales @ signteks has increase tremendously. 100k sales in 6 months minus 40% commission put a smile on my face. Like this guy--->. At this rate i'll have a new house by next year. If you're a salesman, then this is the movie for you. The music they use during that scene and in a few others is the same theme used in Sunshine. In fact it's the same composer...John Murphy. I love that score.
Robin Hood the new one by Ridley Scott I liked it, not a lot of memorable dialogue but entertaining 6.5/10 The Social Network Eh it was alright, nothing special. 6/10
1-The Town 8/10, IMO It lacked the story, but the action scenes really made up for it. 2-Case 39 5/10 just terrible movie IMO didn't like it.
A seriously entertaining movie. I watched it just because I wanted to see what the hype was about. It's got some senseless violence in there (compacter scene -- not cool), but man, perfectly executed action sequences. The video game mode rescue scene was orgasmic in its perfection. And the epicness of the "secret weapon" was enough to make me forget the corniness of the exit.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford If you haven't seen this movie, you need to. Right now. This film is excellent from top to bottom, beginning to end. Andrew Dominik takes you on quite the emotional adventure as you start off sympathetic to James and downright hateful toward Ford, and then turns that completely on its head. This is one of the best films I've ever seen. 9/10. Robin Hood (Ridley Scott) Eh. It was fair. Somehow Ridley Scott manages to take an existing great story/legend, an excellent cast, excellent acting, and the whole thing just comes out only 'fair.' It's sad....he's a great filmmaker, and I pretty much expect this out of him these days. The story certainly could have flowed better and I think I'd be happier with it if a sequel was intended (is it? I have no idea....). Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed. 6/10. 3:10 to Yuma I finally got around to seeing this one. Great movie, though I had a few issues with it. I'll just say that I had some trouble suspending disbelief at the climax of what was otherwise a great film. 7/10. The Proposition Pretty cool flick. Australian western. Lot's of violence with flawed characters seeking redemption, that sort of thing. I watched this one based off of someone's recommendation here on CF. Can't remember who....DD, maybe?....but thanks, whoever you are. 7/10.
Oh, and I just saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as well. 8/10. This film represents perfection in movie making. I docked it two points for extremely adult content including rape scenes and grisly violence. Some very disturbing stuff that children should never be allowed to see. Otherwise, I was absolutely blown away by the story, plot, direction, acting, cinematography ... this was such an incredibly well made movie that was well worth my time and money.
Caught up on some older cheap rentals I'd either heard were good or took a chance on. Strange Days (1995) 8/10 B+ Good movie, well worth the time and little money spent. City of God (2003) 9/10 A Excellent word of mouth suggestion, was nominated for awards I later found out. Shadowboxer (2006) -2/10 G- Worst movie I have ever seen. Gotta be up there for all time worst (no exaggeration, it's that bad) If someone mailed me the screenplay, I'd mail it back to them with skid marks.
Dude I love the way they introduce the secret weapon... the Elvis song makes it even more EPIC!!
