A-Team Movie was just a whole lotta fun. The story was predictable but you're not there for that...you're there for the action, which it had plenty. The performances, especially that of the four leads, were good and provided some nice comedy. Sharlto Copley just about stole the film. 7/10
Alice In Wonderland. A POS, 2/10. Tim Burton's are like those comic book adsverts that sell x-ray glasses. It's all about the trailer and promo photos. The sad thing is that people keep on buying into the scam. I'd like to read the screenplay to see if Burton is to be blamed completely for this.
I just finished watch the original karate kid on netflix... i realized pat "myagi" morita was the main reason it was such a great movie. The movie was very charming and uplifting. The cobra's really whooped daniel son's azz badly during the first half but when he fought the tournament it was great.
Get him to the Greek. 5/10. Started out strong, progressively got worse. It wasnt bad... It just wasnt good. It does have some pretty funny parts, I just would not see it in theaters.
Get Him to the Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You Man, The Hangover, 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up... ...I dunno I may be in the minority but the whole Judd Apatow school of comedy craze is overrated. They're ok movies, but they have nowhere the amount of laughs I expected based on the hype. I think the biggest travesty was The Hangover...I swear you would think it's some holy grail of comedy based on people's reactions. The funniest thing in that movie was the Mike Tyson part in the trailer. I will give props for him bringing back the R-rated comedies though.
Just watched "All About Steve." I actually believe it could have worked as a lower-budget B-film with Anna Faris. Also watched "The Informant," liked that a lot of comedians (Patton Oswalt, Joel McHale, Tom Pappas) got some decent bit and bigger parts and also think Matt Damon is the hardest-working actor of his generation. And Melanie Lynskey, fat or skinny, is just all kinds o' cute. "I have the same tie as you, but the pattern is reversed. Dead."
Also just watched some indie film, "The Killer Inside Me," with Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba. Affleck plays a small town, Texas, mid-50's sherriff/serial killer who basically beats Alba to a pulp in the opening scene, and Hudson to death later on in the film. Violent to the point of gratuitousness(?); but reminds me once again how much better an actor Casey is than his dumb (but likeable) brother.
Orphan - 9/10 It was very creepy. The actress played Esther role very well. The daughter was so adorable...I liked that there were some sign language in the movie.
Hot Tub Time Machine - 6.5/10 - Pretty ridiculous as you would expect, but it's funny and worth a watch. Youth in Revolt - 8/10 - Both my wife and myself really enjoyed this one. A good flick for movie night with your lady. Funny and entertaining throughout.
Can't agree more with this. I think Casey Affleck is incredibly underrated. Watched "The Assasination of Jesse James..." again recently and he's rediculous in it. Underrated movie... 8/10. Watched the Disney/Pixar movie "Up" on Friday night. Very impressed. I thought that was an incredibly sweet movie. Surprising how emotional I got from a cartoon... and I love cartoons.
Enemies Among Us Netflicks. . . I tell ya . . you just pick something anyway 4 out of 10 Eric Roberts and Robin Givens - evidently will Act for food or something Rocket River
Agree, I have a 7month old and that is the worst thought in the world, losing your child. Totally dig the film though, the twist threw me
The A-Team: 8/10 Hilarious movie if you accept it for what it is. Flying tanks? Helicopter barrel rolls? Awesome! Prince of Persia: 6/10 It's what you might expect from a videogame movie. Nothing fancy about it. Nothing completely terrible about it. The Presitge: 10/10 Older, I know, but an awesome movie. Christopher Nolan truly is a wizard director. I hope he starts winning some Academy Awards. The twists and turns and the back and forth of this movie was simply stunning the first time, and still awesome the second time.
