Shutter Island 7.5/10 - I thought this was a very well constructed movie.

Green Zone - 5/10 - another shaky camera Greengrass movie. tries to hit you over the head with preachiness a little too much, but it did have a good plot and the sets were pretty impressive.

Finally watched Coraline...after putting it off for what seems like forever.
And I must say, I really enjoyed it. It was a nice change from your typical upbeat, all smiles animated...or really stop motion films. With me I always like movies with a bit of heart, and some sort of emotion. And this certainly isn't over the top with that...or even about that. But the story has a sense of heart to it...dealing with neglectful parents a bit. Henry Selick after that movie he did years ago, Monkeybone had pretty much forever had me shaking my head at him. Wow that movie sucked. But Nighmare is enough, and Coraline now, to totally get back on my good side.

    Hot Tub Time Machine: 7/10

About what I expected after reading a few reviews. The Hangover light is a good description for this movie. Or better The Hangover meets Back to the Future. Not great but worth the viewing.

    The Damned United - 8/10
Awesome soccer movie about Brian Clough, an arrogant football coach in England during the lates 60s and 70s. It's another adaptation by the guy who wrote The Queen and Frost/Nixon. Dude is a genius.

How to Train Your Dragon 7.5/10

Above-to-way-above-average CGI animated flick from the same company that brought our Shrek and Kung Fu Panda.

Unlike those earlier ones, this movie is NOT a typical offering from them in that it is not going to be dated in a decade because of being filled with pop culture references.

What it does have is a nicely-constructed self-contained story, a hero you can't help but root for, likable characters, and some genuinely-breathtaking action sequences, especially in 3D.

I don't want to mess anything up by spoiling the details, but if you ever want to take your kids to a movie which has an actual positive message (actually several), this is a good one, and I can see this one being a staple in peoples Blu-Ray players for years to come.

    Alice in The Wonderland....6.5/10

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo....8.5/10
The Girl Who Played with Fire........7.5/10
Great movie based on the novel by Stieg Larsson the Millennium trilogy.

Jennifer's Body....5.5/10. Had a few laughs and I thought Megan Fox did a good job. Nowhere as good as Drag Me to Hell.

Book of Eli...3/10. I love post-apocalyptic films but this is one of the worst movie this year. Big FAT Stinker.

    More Than a Game: 8/10

Really enjoyed it, great pacing, well put together story. It's really awesome seeing LeBron and his extremely close friends go all the from 8th grade to their senior year. Great atmosphere

    Scarecrow

    15/10

I vote this movie as the #1 all-time "sleeper" movie. It's an obscure 1973 movie starring Gene Hackman and Al Pacino. It's an acting tour-de-force, a dramatic movie with several laugh-out-loud scenes and a deeply moving ending. Put it this way- out of the 80+ movies he's been in, including Unforgiven, The French Connection, etc., Hackman says that this is his personal favorite.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High - 10/10 - I have seen this movie countless times since its original theatrical release in 1982. As a youth I modeled myself after Mr. Jeff Spicoli. I came across this movie on cable (HD no less) the other night and I have yet to find a single flaw in this film.

How to Train Your Dragon. Saw it in 3D and it was pretty enjoyable. 7.5/10...Sadly it's not making alot of money. Don't know if this was too scary for kids but the 5 kids we took to totally enjoy it. Hopefully they kick the POS Clash of the Titans off and let this movie earn its money.

One of the best movies I've seen in the past 10 years. Simply outstanding. Everything from setting to storyline to acting. Wow.

    Shutter Island = 6/10

It was good until the end, then it was hard to understand and didn't make sense
