Shutter Island - 8/10 Very good cinematography. Halfway through the movie i figured out the plot. IMHO i see parallels to vertigo in the scenes, storyline and character development.

IP Man - 9/10 Just for the fighting scenes alone. If you like Kung Fu movies this is a must.

El Secreto De Sus Ojo - 9.5/10 Had me hooked all the way to the end. Ricardo Darin gives another great performance. 'pelotudooo!'

The Once and Future Thing part 1 & 2 right? Always that JLU season finale.

    "Diner"

Can't believe I had not seen it till now. It still holds up well 28 years later.

    "Lost in Translation"

The first scene of this movie was by far the best. A few funny parts, but way too slow. Scarlett Johannson is smoking hot, but no nude scenes..

Perhaps you went into this movie with the wrong expectations?

But yeah, I actually didn't like it either. Just really didn't connect with it at all.

Watched Moon last night. Good and thought-provoking. But, I thought the computer character didn't make sense and constituted a giant plot hole. That's the only demerit. 4/5.

    The Informant! B+

Really enjoyed this one, was surprised because it wasn't what I was expecting at all, Damon is great in it!

Well it is a remake so I'm sure how original you wanted it to be

Well, almost . And I should also add as far as war movies go, not overall. You may be right though, I may have overrated my initial rating a bit with all the oscars and all, but it was still a darn good movie IMO. I'll stick to my 9/10 rating but retract the almost epic comment, fair enough? ;)

I thought you were classifying the movie as "an epic", whereas it certainly is not.

Now if you were using epic as an adjective I still wouldn't agree, but I wouldn't take issue with it. ;)

I actually knew nothing about it, my wife wanted to see it. She then fell asleep after 15 minutes, and I watched the rest hoping for SJ to get naked.

At least she's in her underwear most of the time.

I think Lost in Translation is a good flick, but it is overrated.

    You can't do math?

Oh, and forgot to mention: in my scale, 3 is the highest, with 1 and 5 being lowest. And, 1 is twice as bad as 5.
