I disagreed. Of the first 10 mins, I thought only the last 5 mins of that 10 mins was aim for the older audiences. But after that it was all kid friendly.
Out of Sight- George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Steve Zahn. What an excellent movie- 11 out of 10.
Just saw the Arostocats in total for the first time since I don't know when ..... - Great Disney Film - Thomas O'Malley, O'Malley the Alley Cat .... It will always be a 10 as the songs/memories have stayed with me since childhood.
I thank you for rating this film, as I would likely have never knew of "Red Cliff" if not for your post. I have secured the film in my possession, and will be viewing it tomorrow afternoon. My rating will be posted shortly thereafter.
Kubrick is my favorite director moes. Among other things his use of music is amazing. William Tell Overture @ 7x
I watched The Andromeda Strain, and boy was that disappointing. I know it is considered a classic, but I was glad when it was over. I'm sure I saw this about 30 years ago, but I didn't remember any of it. You may want to watch it if it is on TV, but it was very dated. Some movies hold up well over time, but this movie just doesn't. I thought the ending was rather dull. I would rate it a 5 out of 10.
That was one of the things that was truly masterful about ACO. As much of a movie buff as I profess to be, I really haven't watched a lot of Kubrick, so I need to get on that.
I'm a huge Kubrick fan and any movie fan should watch his films, they are just such a joy to behold. I think you'll enjoy going through his films.
Cool, hope you enjoy it! I should warn you that some parts are rather cheesy, but as you get into it, you cant help but appreciate the non stop badassness of this movie
Watchmen - 10/10. Not surprising that the source material was a comic book. Nobody in Hollywood has this kind of imagination.
Just watched The Hurt Locker on Blue Ray. Great damn movie, pretty intense, but not a fan of the ending. 8/10.
Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, 2001, Clockwork, Barry Lyndon, Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes wide shut- 8 of the greatest movies of all time. The only directors I put above Kubrick are Hitchcock and Altman- and, to be honest, the longevity of Hitchcock and Altman has something to do with that. I'm a very big fan of certain directors' work- sort of like certain authors and musicians/groups. Some directors just have that knack of creating/directing great movies over and over again: Personal Fave Top 10: 1. Alfred Hitchcock 2. Robert Altman 3. Stanley Kubrick 4. Martin Scorsese 5. John Ford 6. The Coen Brothers 7. Woody Allen 8. Spike Lee 9. Stephen Soderbergh 10. Orson Welles (leaves out a lot of greats like Coppola, Spielberg, etc.) Really into Soderbergh's stuff lately- he's got 5 movies that are top-notch: Sex, Lies and Videotape The Limey Traffic Erin Brockovich Out of Sight Ocean's 11, too.
Damn it guys. I've tried to watch Memento twice now and fell asleep both times. This movie seems really interesting, but its so damn slow and I'm so confused. What the hell?
