Oh man, I watched this 2 weeks ago and it was good, Hugh Grant was really good...............not something I would have gone to the theatre for but streaming it was the perfect venue. The only times I have been to the movies in the last few years are the Blockbusters like Top Gun Maverick or Oppenheimer and took my Neice to see Barbie. I wanted to go see the latest Venom movie but missed out so will wait to stream and it will probably stream on an app I dont have LOL
Saw a movie in theater for the first time in awhile.... Pretty good movie, but a bit too long. Solid B
Mr Harrigan’s Phone on Netflix - 0/10 This movie was boring AF. Half the film all u see is a kid reading books to an old man zero explanation for why the things in the film are happening the high school scenes were so goofy studios think they can just plaster “based off a Stephen King novel or short story” and call it a day…this was an easy paycheck for the actors You’re paying me to read books for half the runtime? I could use a new car, sure, why not. the “horror” aspect was so lame if u told me this was a college film project, I’d believe u overall, my final thought on this movie
Avici- I'm TIm 8/10. He was taken advantage by these music industry sharks. He was trying to fill that missing hole his heart needed, the antidote was Jesus Christ. This same thing is happening to Justin Bieber
Havoc, great action movie by an action giant director, same guy who did Raid 1 and 2, Gareth Evans, working with an incredible cast. Straight up A action movie for me.
Watched Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse with my son the other night. Thought it was great up until the absolutely cliffhanger they leave you on. Was bummed to find out still have 2+ years until the next one comes out. I'm not a comic book fan and have watched very few of the Marvel or DC movies (though I do like Guardians of the Galaxy and have seen all 3) but I thought this was very well done.
Currently watching The Happening. I don’t think I ever saw this. Holy crap it is the worst acted movie I’ve ever seen…
Nonnas (Netflix) - 8 / 10 - Pleasantly surprised by this cute little movie with a lot of star power, that frankly could and should’ve used some of that budget to have better “nonnas” who would’ve been less stereotypical in their behavior yet at the same time a bit more Italian (felt more like Americanized and pretending to be Italian). I also think where it could’ve pushed the comedy more is in Vince Vaughn’s character’s attempt to get the restaurant up and running. They gave him some ammunition to be his typical self, but could’ve done it a bit more and it still could’ve fit with his character. But aside from the guest stars shining, mainly the two ladies in Susan Sarandon and Linda Cardellini, Vince Vaughn’s vulnerability and drama skills really shine here. I liked the plot, though writing could’ve used a bit more touch up, though I realize it being based on a true story limited their creativity. This also in regards to selling the restaurant as they needed to stay true to reality. In that sense, I cannot really fault them for not going for the typical Hollywood exaggeration of a true story just to get some laughs and write to the actor’s abilities but rather stay true to the story. That’s why I definitely think it deserves an 8 at least. Some better chemistry, a bit tighter writing and maybe a slight exaggeration of the truth could’ve helped to really push this as kind of a cute indie, feel good movie that you’d rewatch. In this case, I really do not see myself watching it again and while that’s okay, it had the potential to be better so that leaves a bit of a bitter taste. But the movie was well done and definitely sweet!
I feel like his movies in the last 10 years have been way better than those prior. Like the Departed. The character fit his acting skills and personality better. Early in his career he was trying to play characters he couldn’t pull off with his poor acting. The sniper movie and Boston marathon I thought he was fairly good.
Agreed, he put out some stinkers early on but he`s a decent actor now. Brad Pitt was the same, his acting in Troy was so bad but he`s come a long way to
Side note, do you think Clooney is a good actor? I feel like he is the exact same character in everything. Half of his acting is doing the smirk and smile as he looks down.
