Come on bro you can write into the script she is dying in a month or something. Not in the next few minutes or hours.
Gladiator II What an epic disappointment. They actually could have made that story line, which was basically a repeat of the first movie, a lot more intriguing. Poorly written and executed scenes. Some decent colosseum battle scenes but those monkeys? And the sharks? lol okay Watching Denzel try not to sound like Denzel was amusing, too. Gladiator was/is my all time favorite movie. I’ve seen it no less than 50 times, possibly over 100 considering I used to keep the dvd in my car in high school. I’d watch it while waiting for traffic to die leaving the parking lot. Good times. RUINED by this joke of a movie. /rant
Hartnett did give a nice performance. His daughter was also good, imo, but had a couple (maybe even a few) scenes too many. Spoiler The ending was a surprise in that it felt like a complete non-ending. It didn't work for me either. Otherwise it was like watching a Hitchcock film set in 2024. For that... I would give it a 6/10.
Late Night with the Devil - 8/10 horror is my favorite genre of movie, so I’m always looking for new things to watch ended up seeing this last night and was with it and enjoying it a lot until the last 10 or so minutes when the demon finally appeared and everything that happened from then on which had me like
Uncle Drew (2018) Kyrie, Reggie, CWeb, Nate Robinson, Lisa Leslie, Shaq and a young looking Aaron Gordon. 90's comedy type of movie. grade: B
The Monkey - Gory, black comedy with lots of over the top kills. Its the exact opposite of Perkins previous movie which was overly serious, this is cartoonishly bleak but funny. It never truly gels the way it should which kind of kills it's momentum. B-
The Zone Of Interest. 5/10. More like the zone of boredom. The subject matter is important, 10/10 for that. The film itself felt flat just waiting for anything to happen. Strange Darling. 9/10, underrated horror slasher flick with a bunch of wtfs.
I thought Sept 5 was absolutely fantastic. One of the best movies I can remember seeing. Munich is my favorite movie. This is right there with it, and obviously serves as a little bit of a prequel.
Omniloop: 5/10 Although the ending was okay the movie itself was way too slow and dragged on for infinity. I wouldn't recommend this move unless you've got 1 hour and 47 minutes to burn away.
It was a crappy day yesterday so I watched We live in Time (on Max) with Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, it was pretty good 6.5/10...it gets a .5 for showing boobies several times, there real and there spectacular After looking for another Movie, I decided on Wonka starring Timmy Kardashian................ya know what, it wasn't horrible, but I could not have imagined watching that at a theatre, I would have walked out pissed, but for a cold crummy Sunday sitting on my couch with my cat, it was entertaining, 5/10
The Brutalist I’m sick in bed and wanted to watch Anora, but I’m on meds, so I figured I might fall asleep. And, knowing my luck, my wife or someone else would walk in at the most inopportune time. Every time there’s an extended sex scene or nudity in a movie I pick, my wife acts like I personally cast and directed the ****. My son’s eight, and we haven’t had the talk yet, so I wasn’t in the mood for drama today. So, I decided to watch The Brutalist. It sucked. It starts off okay, the story of a Hungarian immigrant coming to America for a better life. Then it just gets shittier and shittier. I don’t want to spoil it, but I doubt many people will be watching this four-hour wet fart. So I’ll just say this: Lazlo’s cousin is a dick, Guy Pearce’s character is a freak, there’s clearly something weird going on with his son, and Lazlo’s wife and niece are completely pointless. Honestly, it would’ve added more to the story if Lazlo's wife died and he got with Guy Pearce’s daughter. A four-hour wet fart. I stayed awake for the whole thing and fell asleep as soon as it was over. 2/10
Shoplifters (2018) 10/10 Geezuz what a roller coaster of emotions in this Japanese film about family, directed by Hirokazu Koreeda. This is a movie that makes you question morality. This movie can be very paradoxical in a way that it opens eyes of how a system can be so wrong in doing the right thing and how sometimes the only moral action is to do immoral things. This one will sit with you, long after its over.
