Transformers 2: 5/10 and only because Megan Fox is hot Seriously...the first movie was watchable. Hot chick, good action scenes, a few bit of comedy sprinkled in...the plot was weak but it still WORKED. This one? Total and complete garbage. WAY too long. WAY too long. I don't know...I really didn't enjoy it. The forest fighting scene was great and the final battle was pretty good, but everything else about it was just bad. I have rewatched the first movie 2 or 3 times on cable, but you couldn't pay me to watch this one again
I just saw it and liked it as well. Probably 7.5 out of 10. I thought the end could have been a little better. Spoiler if they were going with the "double-twist" ending of sorts, I so wanted it to be Robin Wright Penn as the bad person. I think it would have had a better and bigger impact on the two main characters of the film. Still, up until the ok ending, the movie was really good.
(Untitled) Funny movie about the very fringe of the art world. This movie is filled with all the BS art commentary you've ever heard in an art critque. It will be showing at the Angelika soon.
Milk, 7/10 - Pretty good movie. I had never heard of this story until I saw the movie. Man, Sean Penn is an amazing actor. They showed a little film of the real Harvey Milk at the end and I didn't know if it was him or Sean Penn. He had all his mannerisms down to a TEE. Sand, 1/10 - This was a REALLY bad movie on SO many levels. Meet The Browns, 2/10 - See above.
Probably was a woman's choice of film. In my experience, these women come from poor socioeconomic upbringings where they have been forced to eat beets and potato salad while their working-class fathers and brothers consumed copious amounts of beer and pork rinds. Therefor these women act out in their older years by forcing their significant others to watch films that are devoid of any real substance as they were taught from a young age to seek mainly whimsical forms of amusement, and to leave anything abstract or droll to the men to decipher with their men minds. This propensity for intellectually vacuous mediums of entertainment is why I am awesome and women are clearly not awesome.
i'm sure all those disney movies you know word for word are just so intellectually and emotionally galvanizing.
were we indulging in a bit of whimsical thinking ourselves... when suddenly deciding to channel old misguided "ronny" through your post here...? and.. do I detect a.. burn...?
The wife was watching it on TV (yeah, like we'd actually go to a theatre to see this...) and I noticed that Rick Fox was in it. Thought I'd get a good laugh. You've never watched a movie for the (unintentional) comedic value?
I've watched these movies within 2 days. Unforgiven 9/10 - One of the best movies I've seen. The line between good and bad is blurred. The characters are just a slave to their circumstance. Great acting also. Open Range 5/10 - Perfect example of why Kevin Costner is not popular now. The movie itself is so cliche and everyone seems want to talk about their feelings. 3.10 to Yuma - 8/10 Great movie. Christian Bale is one of my favorate actors and the storyline is good. Hang 'em High - 8/10 Great classic movie.
The Men Who Stare at Goats: 8.0 out of 10 This move has some very funny moments. Jeff Bridges and Clooney kill and the casting of Ewan McGregor is a nice ironic touch.
Haven't seen it but several friends saw it Sunday...the general consensus was that it was one of the worst movies ever. Then they watched the 2nd half of the Texans game with me and that didn't help their Sunday.
