    Minari - 8/10

I Care A Lot - 1.5/10 (Terrible movie, terrible pacing, wasted opportunities)

In the middle of 'One Night in Miami' and 'Tom & Jerry'

Map of Tiny Perfect Things (Amazon Prime) - 7 out of 10. I am probably rating it higher than most people, but I was in the mood for something light and this delivered for me. Imagine Ferris Beuller was placed in Groundhog Day in a John Hughes film and this gives you an idea of where you are going with the movie. Likeable characters, doing cute things.

I Care A Lot (Netflix) - 7 out of 10. OK, so right of the bat I dislike movies where no one is likeable and its evil people doing evil things to other evil people, so I am biased against the film. Rosamund Pike must have laughed all the way to the bank making this one... since she takes her Gone Girl character and turns the knob to 11. Yea, I know it was a black comedy, but Peter Dinklage as a ex Russian mafia type that hires such idiotic clowns to work for him?

My favorite part is when John Malkovich had a karate fight, because it's a thing that happens in that movie..... On the positive side, Chastain looked great in that red dress.....

WW84 - 4/10. Movie was long. Plot was ****. The first WW was great. I can not believe the sequel from the same director.writer/cast sucked this bad.
The climax turned on ... the father's love for his son??? SMDH.

News of the World - 8/10. Tom Hanks carried the movie. Plot was too simplistic at points (which may be the same issue in the book from which the movie is based?). Tom Hanks, feel good ending. What more could you want?

I had read it was an interesting little indy movie with a good budget, but it was like a mediocre episode of Star Trek. The plot was a mess and didn't really make any sense -- I barely made it through.

Both are right. The movie is bad. Not in an amusing it's bad it's good kind of way. But there are some highlights like the Malkovich fight.

It's a spy movie why would he not have a karate fight?

I have not seen the movie but the fight must be ridiculous for you to single it out.

Captain Fantastic - 6 out of 10 (Netflix). Strong cast (Viggo Mortenson, George McCay (1917), and Frank Langello with a strong group of young actors in an odd film ("dramedy") about a far left wing survivalist and his six kids being raised in the wilderness of Washington who need to come back to "civilization" to attend the funeral of Viggo's wife. Some really good parts but a few strange parts (won't list so as to not spoil the film). Still not entirely sure about the meaning of the title... even the explanations I have read seem a bit out there. But worth watching...

Was a bit underwhelmed with 1917, I did not need a lot of actions but I thought it ended kind of flat.

It looked great, I enjoyed the 1st part more than the 2nd part.

    6.5/10
