Where the Wild Things Are - B - If it wasnt for the nostalgia I would have given it a C+. Effects were cool but it was just so freaking sad. The book was not sad. Monsters vs. Aliens - C - I agree with the earlier poster, I really wanted it to end. I liked the Insectosaurus however. Star Wars - The Clone Wars - D - Pretty much sucked as much as I expected, with a couple of amusing parts to keep it from being a complete waste of time. I ended up filling out all my paperwork for medical prepay during this to keep me from going to sleep. Saving a baby Jabba the Hut? Ugh.
Couples retreat- B+ Really suprisesd me, it was a good movie. Great plot. Recommend you seeing it with your gf or wife. Stepfather - d- this movie blows
Law Abiding Citizen - 8/10 Loved the movie, really suprised how by the end of the movie it made me think a bit more then I expected. Jamie Fox was good as usual and Leonidas errr Gearld Butler played his role perfectly very believable.
The Mist – 6/10 Started off really slow and cheesy. I didn’t get the whole angle of the neighbor thinking everyone was playing a joke on him. But once it was revealed what was actually in the mist, it got pretty good. The ending reminded me of the ending to War of the Worlds. Just didn’t make sense. But it was a pretty entertaining movie nonetheless.
The neighbor felt that way because he wasn't a local, they kind of give you the idea that he also hadn't been the nicest guy to locals beforehand. How'd the ending remind you of war of the worlds? If anything it's the exact opposite IMO
Drag me to Hell - 9/10. Awesome movie. Scary, cheesy, funny. All it missed was a Bruce Campbell cameo
Spoiler Just in the way they all the sudden decided it was a good idea to off themselves just because they ran out of gas. Well, not really that part, just the part about everything being totally hopeless, then all the sudden within just a few minutes, the war is over and humanity is saved.
not to mention the quality of acting or lack thereof between the two "films".. where the inconsistent portrayal of people in distress--particularly the man at the end with the forced outcry at having murdered several innocent people at point blank range, including his own son.. coming out more like the mere bothered bellowing of an ensuing temper tantrum.. made Dakota Fanning's over-enthused attempts to portray hysterical crying.. seem like an exceptional achievement of dramatic art...
Spoiler well at least in the mist it kind of explained as the army having lost control of some experiement, end was just them regaining control. The novella, one of my favorite King story, didn't contain that ending. War of the World's ending was just HG Wells fault coupled with Speilberg's sentimentality
I really love this movie. A personal favorite of mine. One of the better horror movies of the past few years. I LOVED the ending.
Night of the creeps - 5/10, I think Rusty from National Lampoon's Vacation was the lead in it. So-so teenager movie.
Where The Wild Things Are - not really a kids movie per se, but really well done. The kid does a great job capturing the character of an angry young boy dealing with his family situation and lashing out. And the way this situation is mirrored and played out with the 'Wild Things' is really well done. A little thrown off hearing Tony Soprano's voice as the main Wild Thing, but in the end it worked well. I'm glad this movie didn't go the safe, predictable route - though I think this will turn some people off. Most of the reviews are divided and that doesn't surprise me.
