Juliet, Naked. 8/10 - funny and nice soundtrack. this is on netflix. The Wolf's Call - 7/10. intense movie but not much action. netflix original also. it's french movie.
Lion king 9/10. You got little ones you need to take them asap, uncle, parent or big bro. Some idiot in the theater decided to cut onions when the you know what scene. The only thing this movie lacked was those karate moves against the hyenas.
Spidey Far from Home. 7 outta 10. Like the characters and actors. Story was pointless. Much ado about nothing.
How do you cast Rob Riggle in 12 Strong. How. 5/10. I never felt any on screen chemistry amongst the team, but Hemsworth was very good as usual.
Finally saw Bohemian Rhapsody (since everyone I know has been hassling me about why I hadn't seen it yet). Story was kind of eh.....campy and predictable - much like every other musical bio-pic I've seen. One thing I thought was amazing was the actors who played May, Taylor and Deacon. It was stunning how they all looked and moved exactly like the real people while on stage. I heard that Joseph Mazzello (guy who played Deacon) learned to really play the bass for this movie, and you could tell. The final Live Aid performance was the best part of the movie. No detail was left to chance right down to the Pepsi cups on Freddie's piano placed in the exact same spots. I love it when movies pay so much attention to detail when telling a true story.
The Cowboys 9/10 rating maybe a little high but its one of my all time favorites. I think ch 20 showed it every other month back in the 80's. Plus Long Hair has to be one of the all time great movie villains.
Rob Riggle was an actual marine who served in Afghanistan. He may have been the most qualified to be cast in the movie.
Still, on screen he's an over the top comedian, and that works for him really well. But he has to prove himself first before anyone can take him seriously in a serious film. The majority of the cast was off tilt for whatever reason, and he took away from my ability to suspend any belief.
I didn't actually see the film. I only mentioned it because if I was casting, I might let that factor into my decision
*not taking anything away*....he was a Col. in a PR group, but he was there, and I was not. And his casting in that film was solid.
Lion King ('94). 10/10. No interest in seeing the live action version, the original will always be GOAT. Got the same feels as an adult that I did as a kid. Toy Story trilogy. 9/10. Stumbled upon the original on TV and just binged all 3. They still hold up amazingly well and each got better albeit the 3rd was most depressing. Also noticed little tidbits mentioned/rolled over from the previous film(s). Didn't think a 4th was needed but will watch. Avengers: Endgame. 8/10. Infinity War was better. Kingdom of Heaven, Director's Cut. 8/10. Hadn't seen it in years and it's on HBO. One of Ridley Scott's best (IMO) and this cut is the definitive version, don't bother with the theatrical. --- Chernobyl. 9.5/10. Simply amazing execution/production of the events. The level of negligence/ignorance at the timet is mind-blowing and frustrating. The two leads nailed their roles to perfection. The Wire. 10/10. Since I put Chernobyl might as well continue. Probably the best TV show I've ever watched. Never got into it because I thought it was a copycat of The Shield but I couldn't have been more wrong. Now I need to re-watch The Shield to see if it's even as good as I remember. Breaking Bad. 9.9/10. Probably the second best TV show I've ever watched. I finished this and then binged The Wire, I'm forever spoiled.
^^^This guy has really good taste. eta: get through Season 1 of Justified and keep watching. Trust me.
Yeah. I don't even know what all that duty entails. I just know that he was away from home in a theater of war. I think that is more than most other actors can say.
you've got mail was in the mood for a super old school romcom that i haven't seen in 2 decades and this movie came up. i don't remember much about what happened except for the basic plot and the first thing i noticed was holy schiiitteee... dave chappele is in this movie! also 90s meg ryan was like tom cruise today, would.
imdb'd it. looks interesting, will have a watch. tho would be better had they substituted the bestles with trump or the kardashians. or maybe even utah jazz
Oh give me a break... "Yesterday, all my jacking seemed so far away..." It wouldn't matter what movie you were pretending to watch, don't lie
Just watched "Joe" with Nick Cage. Really good performance by him and one really messed up movie. Shot in Austin, and takes place in Texas, although the location is never known. Interesting aside: I've developed a habit of looking up IMDB when watching movies to see about the actors and where I've seen them. The "Father" in this movie was literally a homeless man in Austin. He drowned shortly after the movie.
Triple Threat on Netflix gets an 8/10 on the "Bloodsport is on again, it's Saturday afternoon.. I could do worse" Scale. I don't know where the hell this movie came from, but this is a lot more fun than is should be. Tony Jaa, Iko Uwas, Tiger Chen, Micheal Jai White, Scott Adkins.. This is a ridiculous cast of C-list martial arts talent that catapults this movie in to S-tier "hell yes, please"
