Searching for Sugar Man Cartel Land A+ Ken Burns (of Civil War, Baseball, The West, fame) is putting out a 2 part, 4 hour documentary about the life of Jackie Robinson. It airs next week on PBS. I would recommend everyone watch it.
Pitch Perfect 2: 6/10 Enjoyed the characters once again and seeing where they would go next. Actually like the movie in general, but the plot seemed somewhat familiar to the first movie. So not nearly as fresh and fun. But enjoyed all the characters once again so worth seeing.
Raging Bull, 9/10 - Can't believe I've never seen this until now. De Niro's finest performance IMO. Well, maybe besides The Deer Hunter. Mulholland Dr, 7/10 - Naomi Watts....and loved the ending. David Lynch FTW.
StarWars - The Force Awakens. 6/10. Can somebody show the captain of First Order the power of CCTV or Lorex? it's helpful to find somebody in that giant spaceship.
Hateful Eight - 6.5/10. I know you are to expect long dialogues with Quentin but even this was testing my patience. Legend - 4/10. Hardy was great but the movie just seemed to lack any kind of path. I get what they were trying to go for but it missed the mark badly. Could have been a really great movie. I also had a real hard time understanding Ron Kray.
The Intern 9/10 De Niro was great in this along with Hathaway. Very nice story, and the fact that Ders and Adam from workaholics are both in there makes it that much sweeter.
Batman, Michael Keaton Batman. 7/10 This movie holds up and holds up well. Tim Burton, good, as always.
Ex Machina - 8.5/10. I liked this more than I thought I would. 10 Cloverfield Lane. 7.5/10. ok movie, but I enjoyed the ending.
Risen - 1/10 Boring. Tried to sell it as a detective movie with Jesus cameo. Failed. Mr. Rightt - 2/10 What in the schitte did I just watch? The love story angle didn't make any sense. The whole story didn't make any sense. I like Sam Rockwell better in a supporting role. The movie was a waste, but at least it's a bit better than Risen.
The Jungle Book (2016) - 8.2/10 Very solid movie - beat my expectations. Neel Sethi's (Mowgli) acting wasn't great at the beginning but got better as the movie went on. In my opinion, this remake is way better than the original, which I didn't like.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunter 3/10 In the final fight scene the witch comes at the hero with a shovel, lol, instead of the hot mess of witch powers she could have. And you end up with a crappy fist fight. It was like a slightly tightened up Sci Fi channel movie. The CGI was forced. Renner was a stiff. The jokes were nowhere near funny. This thing totally missed. Arterton wasn't all bad, sort of hot too, but just a bad B movie that made it to the big screen.
Copenhagen, 8/10. Just when you think it's a cliche flick, little dark twists arise. It stars Remly baratheon. Hangout approved.
