You really have to "get" the Coen Brothers. Its an acquired taste. I thought Burn After Reading was amusing, but it was no Big Lebowski or Fargo.
Shoot me, but I have yet to see Big Lebowski. It's on my que in Netflix, so I should be getting it in the mail soon.
I "get" them plenty, I don;t like them. No Country for Old Men was horribly overrated, and everyone told me to check another one of their movies out, so I di
Dark Knight. Finally gave into the hype. terrible movie and terrible movie concept. 0/10 Revolutionary Road. terrible, terrible, and terrible. -5/10
and here I thought you had good taste in movies and you haven't seen Big Lebowski! Must watch, my friend. and rhino17, I remember you saying before You didn't like No Country, so again I'm going to say I think you just don't really "get" the Coen Bros. Which is cool, a lot of people think their movies suck and are overrated. To each his own. Landlord, 0/10 for The Dark Knight? I hate to think what movie qualifies as a "good" movie to you.
We really liked In Bruges as well. Doesn't hurt that we spent about a week in the town during the off-season, several years ago. It's just beautiful, which the movie shows to good effect. Easily one of the best things Colin Farrell has ever done.
I think there stuff is really easy to get, that is why I don;t like it. No country just seemed too easy and simple to me. And LandLord Landry, Brad Pitt's character was a huge turnoff to me in that movie, I found him extremely annoying. I will still give another one of their movies a shot, I hear from a lot of people that was the worst Coen movie
No, The Ladykillers would beat it out for that honor. I've enjoyed them all, myself, although I think the one I mentioned is probably at the bottom of my "best loved" Coen brothers films.
Yeah I was just about to say the same thing, although Tom Hanks and JK Simmons were great, It is also probably my least favorite Coen. rhino, I'd recommend watching Raising Arizona, Fargo, and The Big Lebowski.
That score is a little high for me. I'd probably put it around 80 or 85%. Definitely worth the price of admission though...very intriguing plot. Also, it's playing at some bigger theaters now. I know AMC Dunvale has it for sure.
Ice Age 3: Not really that good. And my cousin was one of the animators. However, my daughter liked it. 2.5 stars outta 5 if you have a kid with you. If you dont have a kid with you, um....1.5 stars bc the weasel is amusing. Transformers 2: Yeah, I saw it. I'm in freaking nowhere NH and it was raining and I had already seen Ice Age 3 with my kid. However, it was total fun crap. Meghan Fox is hot as hell and the effects were great. However, they could have removed about 45 minutes of the love story, everything involving the parents, and lame small dog footage and it would have been a better movie. Still, I'm giving it 3 stars IF you see it in the theater and you're not expecting a plot and you have a working penis.
you mean old boy right? that is one of my 10 favorite movies. acutally if i made a list (ive talked with some people about this recently) 1 oldboy 2 dazed and confused 3 fight club 4 evil dead 2 5 lord of the rings 2 6 city of god 7 silence of the lambs 8 the matrix 9 seven 10 platoon quite a weird list but thats what it is
Solaris (77%) - Good movie...surprised I missed it when it first released. I was drawn to it because it's a space movie, but it really has very little to do with space aside from one key factor which I don't want to spoil. It was an interesting enough storyline, but it moved a little too slow for my taste. There was literally zero action, which was disappointing but totally understandable (it had no place in the story). Overall, it was a solid movie with a unique feel to it, and I can respect that.
