Forget that they are even sending humans back from the dead. How the hell are Transformers supposed to be spiritual creatures? And what is the deal with the decepticon with a human female body? A transformer with a human body? Does this director even have a shred of principle left in his skull? This movie was preposterous in so many ways.

Yeah I guess you can't compare the 2 universes. LOTR expects a total suspension of disbelief, you're in that world, but with TF it's robots in our modern age. Michael Bay really should only direct fireworks displays.

    Romeo+Juliet - 7/10
I'm a sucker for heavily stylized movies, I guess. And that soundtrack is awesome, Desiree, Cardigans, Radiohead.

I just watched this about a month ago I guess, but I don't think I posted about it here. I'd probably give it a similar rating. Talk about a mind-f**k movie.

    ---------

The Crow (80%) - Yeah, I just got around to seeing this. I thought it was pretty good, and probably even better when it first came out. The background of the story was interesting and I liked that the Crow character had a whitty/humorous side.

    ---------

And for those who have seen Transformers 2 and are interested in reading about the ridiculousness of some of the plot points, check this out.

Actually Bay isnt too far off with the Decepticon in a human body. In the comic books (but not the cartoon) there were decepticons and autobots called "pretenders" and they were robots would had an outer human shell. They couldnt turn into anything so their "camaflouge" mode was the human mode. There were also transformers that had shells of monsters etc.

Also I dont see why transformers cant be spiritual, they are another race (albeit a mechanical race) so why wouldnt they have religion, spirituality of sorts? This was very big in the cartoon and the comic books with the Matrix of Leadership and going into the heart of cybertron to find Alpha Trion.

People may find the movie to be silly but fans of the comics and cartoons know that at least those two parts are actually somewhat close to what original source material.

unlike those two dumbass autobot cars

so i took my dad to a hindi movie yesterday that was set here in America
    called New York

it was actually very well produced and not your typical indian film (there were songs, but there werent song and dance numbers where everyone in the city starts dancing the same move)

and like most indian movies there was no concept of film editing as the movie was nearly 3 hours long.

It had Irfan Khan (the police officer from slumdog, dad in namesake) and john abraham (an indian star)

the story was about how the fbi drove an american born indian to become a terrorists after the events of 9/11. There was some predictable things but overall I was quite surprised with the movie

    8/10

ALSO I dont want too many hindi films, but I try to keep up with all the hottie indian actresses but this film had a girl I hadnt seen before and she was smoking hot. her name is katrina kaif

    a big picture so spoilered

The Devil and Daniel Johnston. 8/10. Very good documentary. I don't love his music, but, he's a great songwriter.

There's a lot to be said for the combination of insanity and honesty.

Ice Age: 9 out of 10

Transformers 2: 7 out of 10 (I liked the first one better. Too many explosions in the second one.)

    Great movie, I agree.

I've created two plays about Daniel's life and music. The first was called "Speeding Motorcycle." It ran twice in Houston and once in Austin and received a number of rave reviews including one from the New York Times. Kathy McCarty, who was featured prominently in the movie, was in the Austin production and she was great.

The second one, "Life is Happy and Sad," will premiere at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston this December.

Come check it out. Daniel saw the first one several times and loved it.

If "Life is Happy and Sad" is playing in the last few weeks of December, I will definitely come see it while we are in the States. I saw that documentary a few years ago and couldn't get it out of my head.

Mall Cop - 2/10. Agree with everyone saying the trailer is better than the movie. Just a weird movie, and not in a good way. And this is coming from someone who LOVES King of Queens/Kevin James.

House Bunny - 6/10. Wife made me watch this one. Totally predictable, but it had it's moments. Sort of like an Old School with females instead of males. Anna Faris is HOT. And she is actually a pretty good comedic actress. Colin Hanks looks more like his father every day. Should be fun watching this kid's career over the next 30 years.

    agreed and agreed.

watched The Mighty Aphrodite for the first time the other day...not much of a Woody fan, but I loved this one. Jumped to the top 3-4 of my favorite of his flicks. Mira Sorvino was at her hottest in this.

To me she's one of those actresses that can be either really hot or really not hot, and it doesn't have to be about her looks...just the role she's playing in a given movie.

I think I might finally give this movie a chance...it's been available on Netflix streaming for a while now but I always passed over it.

Absolutely astounding. Can't believe I waited so long to see this gem from 1950.

Boy in Striped Payamas - 7 out of 10
Good movie depicted in eyes of a young boy during Nazi regime in Germany. Didn't like the abrupt ending. I've seen better dramas.

    Public Enemies - 8 out of 10
Good story; great acting by Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Two of better actors out there now; lots of shooting and chase scenes. CG in scene outside cinema was crappy; and I noticed a background actor smiling in an elevator scene.
