The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water Saw this with my kids (and some of their friends) this weekend. As an adult, thought this didn't live up to the humor of the first Spongebob movie (and some of the better 12 minute episodes)...but was still pretty solid. Was lacking quite a bit of the adult humor scattered throughout the first movie...but the kids definitely enjoyed it from start to end. Adult view: 6/10 (based on my expectations of a Spongebob themed movie) Kid view: 9/10 (you almost can't throw anything out there Spongebob-wise that kids won't like)
Guardians of the Galaxy - 7/10 I never see what the big deal is with these comic book movies, but this one was probably one of the better ones I have seen. Nothing really blew me away but I did enjoy the snappy writing and the visuals.
That is one good movie, too bad somehow it had not made as much money as some lesser films. Which means there won't be a sequel. ;(
This is where I leave you My wife rented it from Redbox this weekend. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. The poop, weed, and sleeping with each others ex's jokes get old pretty quick. 4.5/10 You would think Jason Bateman and Tina Fey duo could produce something of more quality.
Edge of Tomorrow 9/10 Made me realize how under rated Tom Cruise is as an actor. Don't ask questions just watch it, then thank me later
John Wick - 1/10 - This movie is dreadful. It's basically gun p*rn. I like graphically violent action films but this was just boring as can be, and 150 people get shot in the head at point blank range. Don't believe the hype surrounding this one. Frank - 9/10 - This is a great, although weird film. It's on Netflix. I recommend everyone check it out. Birdman - 3/10 - Pretentious crap.
I found john wick to be trash as well. Gone Girl 8/10 Crazy good story line and some of the scenes + soundtrack were intense but the acting/dialogue detracted a lot for me. Overall it is a must see and very enjoyable. Nightcrawler 8.5/10 Gyllenhall was so damn convincing in his portrayal and he was terrifying. One of the best thrillers I've seen in a while
I can't remember the last movie I have watched. Fury - 4/10 - I couldn't get over how dumb they all seemed to be especially the guy who played Shane in The Walking Dead.
Well that's a silly reason. I like Keanu Reeves. That's one of the main reasons I rented John Wick. The movie still sucked, though. Keanu has been in a number of terrible movies. He is certainly not above 1 star. I thought Edge of Tomorrow was great. It's one of my favorite Tom Cruise movies. I also thought Jack Reacher was really good. Tom Cruise is still making good films.
I watched John Wick in a theater when I visited my friend in Boston. No joke, two of us fell asleep during it. Never happened before.
I hear it did real well on home video tho so there is still hope. Not sure what they would do with a sequel tho, unless they changed up the ending to be more like the japanese manga its based upon.
Finally watched Selma the other night 7/10 solid movie. Good pacing and hit the right emotional notes
