Slept on? People talk about this movie all the time. It's on everyone's best of 2014 list. I'm not really a fan of his movies or his style.

    Captain Phillips

What an incredible movie. It's amazing how much intensity and suspense Paul Greengrass was able to create even out of routine and mundane activities, let alone the actual hostage scenes. Superb performances from Hanks, as usual, and the Somali actors. That last scene of the film with Hanks was so incredibly powerful and emotional. And somewhat surprisingly, it stayed pretty faithful to the actual event.

    9/10

    Foxcatcher - 8.5

John DuPont was such a creeper. Feel so bad for the Schultz family.

Woman in black 2. What a boring crap I endured. Long stupid and I don't even know what they were talking about. Cheap unpredictable scares.

    The One I Love - 7.5/10

Very interesting and weird movie. Well worth a watch, especially if you know nothing going in. Interesting look into broken relationships.

Once you get past the idea its a fantasy movie, its an extremely well done adult movie that makes it easy to care about the characters.

The next 2 are just as good. My favorite is either Fellowship of the Ring or Return of the King. Both are fantastic for different reasons.

The Hobbit movies while not terrible really don't come close to matching the original LOTR trilogy.

Speaking of which...just saw The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. Would give it a 6.5 out of 10...and the best of the Hobbit trilogy.

So...now that the 6 Middle Earth movies are released, I would rate them in this order, worst to best.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - 5 out of 10
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - 6 out of 10
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies - 6.5 out of 10
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - 7.5 out of 10
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - 9 out of 10
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - 9 out of 10

Kind of cool that future viewers who have never seen these films can now watch them in chronological order AND that they will get (for the most part) progressively better for them as they go.

interestingly enough i always liked the two towers movie the best. in large part because i liked the battle in that one the best (didnt really like all the ghosts flying around too much)

so at least for some it does get better and better as a progression ;)

    Coherence- 8/10

Such an awesome concept for the film. Usually not into these sci-fi type films, but didn't read anything about the movie before I watched it. Glad I took a chance on this one.

The first Hobbit is the best of the three. The last one's pacing is too uneven to be the best.

I get where you're coming from, but I could've watched Jordan, Donnie, Rug Rat, the Sea Otter, etc. and their exploits for about 5 hours straight. Not to mention the duchess of bay ridge, Ms. Margot Robbie. Wow...

    The Imitation Game

    8/10

If you like A Beautiful Mind or even Good Will Hunting, you will enjoy this. Brilliant adaptation of the story of Bletchley Park and the cryptanalysis team, ran by Alan Turing.
