I saw Up this morning, and it was freaking fantastic.

Watched Mr. Brooks with my wife last night...and that was a lot better than I thought it would be.

I generally trust this board. Looks like I need to see Up. The previews did absolutely nothing for me.

Finally watched "The Happening" last night. Not great...but not nearly as awful as I was led to believe it would be. Interesting, because there was no twist. You were presented pretty early in the movie with who/what the culprit was, and it never really lead you off that.

I think it's just extremely fashionable among you young inter-webbers to bash Shaymalamadingdong. He created a couple of early movies it was hard to follow up on.

Hell, Kung Fu Panda was on HBO the other day and I watched the whole thing.

It was certainly better than a lot of other films Jack Black has been involved with.

I'm just waiting for Food Inc. now. Got some free screening passes for a showing at the Angelika on Wednesday.

Kung Fu Panda is funny stuff. My kids and I quote from it quite a bit.

Yeah, I want to see Food, Inc. too.

Yesterday I watched Made of Honor. What's worse is that I watched it alone and wasn't forced to. I even liked it.

    I agree on both

YEAR ONE seemed like Jack Black smoked some weed
    and say
Let's try to remake .. history of the world part one
    but
    in a real *****ty way
[transition from cave man to roman empire it seems through the movie]

Taken - rental obviously - despite the fact that there is very little chance that he could kill that many people in Paris and not get arrested for it...well maybe in this current xenophobic environment they wouldnt miss a few Albanians, but still....I freaking liked this movie a lot. Then again, I have two daughters and if someone snagged my kids I would love to stick 9 inch nails in their legs and electrocute them to death. Revenge is awesome. 4 stars for the popcorn movie factor.

Up - brilliant - Pixar wins again. Also my cousin did the opening movie about the clouds and the storks so I gotta pimp my cousin's company (he's an animator for Pixar). 5 stars.

Star Trek - my expectations were high, and it EXCEEDED them. And I'm definitely a Star Wars fan...my only Trek series was DS9 and my wife dragged me into that one (she's the trekkie in the family) 5 outta 5 stars. The dude that played McCoy was excellent.

Fanboys - As a self-professed Star Wars nerd, I was looking forward to this one. It had it’s moments, but overall left me feeling like the script was written in under an hour. The good was that it had all kinds of inside jokes that only fellow Star Wars geeks (like myself) would get and had lots of cameos as well. Seth Rogan played 3 different characters, all of which stole the show. Even the guy who played Darth Maul made a funny cameo.

Do NOT see this movie if you don’t get into 1) Star Wars (obviously) and 2) Rush.

Seen a lot of new movies lately...

Seven Pounds 7.5/10 ... Not bad, not great. I enjoyed it, but the second half of the movie was a little predicable.

The Hangover 9/10 ... right up my alley. I love the fact that they didn't make it overly raunchy and forcibly work in a bunch of unnecessary obscenity. And Heather Graham is hott.

Taking of Pelham 123 6.5/10 ... saw it on a Sunday matinee, nothing great but it was entertaining enough. Got a little bored through parts of it.

Pursuit of Happyness 10/10 ... never got around to seeing this before but I was absolutely riveted by this movie. Instantly became one of my favorite movies.

Yeah, it was pretty funny. 3 different Rush songs used in the movie. The Star Wars references come at you so fast, you really have to pay attention.

Great movie. I saw it in the theatre when it first came out.

You know the guy Will Smith passes on the street in the very last scene of the movie is the actual guy the movie is based on?

Yeah, one of the people I was watching it with mentioned that. If that movie doesn't make you thankful for what you have I don't know what will.

I actually did know that. Did you know that the movie is complete BS, according to Cracked anyway. 7 Movies Based on True Stories (That Are Complete Bull***)

To see the link above you'll need to replace the 4 asterisks with the correct 4 letters.
