Draft Day - 8/10 Really enjoyed it. I love these behind-the-scenes of sports organizations movies. The last act and ending was pretty obvious, but it was badass. Jennifer Garner actually looks elegant in this one and not all muscly and man-like.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 8/10 Finally got around to seeing this one, and I really enjoyed it. I liked how it was largely a spy/espionage thriller rather than a full-blown action movie. That was unexpected but really cool.
Did you watch a bootleg version? I've been wanting to see it but the bluray doesn't come out until sept.
It's truly an astonishing film. There are so many ways it could have gone off the rails, yet Linklater managed it, with the help of more luck than a human being should ever expect to have.
I'm thinking of watching Oculus. Is it any good, brehs? I liked the Conjuring... is it anything like that?
I saw some reviews on here that seemed like people didn't like it, but I thought it was very good. It's got a pretty unique storyline to it. 8/10 for me.
I liked the fact that the story takes place in Houston/Austin. Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke and boyhood himself and even the sister all did a great job. The supporting cast? Especially the acting was horrendous. The transformation from 9 yrs old to going to college was quite the experience. This is a film you should experience just once in your lifetime, even if you don't live in Houston or don't like these types of movies. My favorite scene was probably the photo lab room where everything was tint red. Another movie that comes to mind while I was watching this was Tree of Life but less pretentious. I probably won't watch it again anytime soon since the movie is almost 3 hrs long about a boy growing up to go to college. Oh and a lot of ******* dads live in Texas apparently, lol. Linklater should definitely win Best director depending on when the movie was release state side. Is it the best film of the year? Nope that goes to Guardian Of The Galaxy. But it's one of the best of this year for sure.
I make it my mission to watch all movies reviewed in this thread if i haven't seen it. So I watched it last night because of your review. Loved it! It was like money train, 1984 and the pianist but totally different. seriously where can I find those protein blocks? they could help me overtrain. snowpiercer- It's a cheesy title but a truly glorious dystopian film. 8/10 The poster Da1 would give it 10/10.
Enjoyed it as well, despite some uneven performances (Kinear and the actress that played his wife were especially good, and the little kid was cute). Good call of location... there are times I regret not ever having lived in a small town (though that one was filmed in Canada). Interesting where most of the criticism of the film came from...
next i need you to watch puppetmaster 5 the final chapter. it brings everything to a neat conclusion. A+++++
This Is The End - 1/10 We actually turned this off about 30 minutes in. Don't think I laughed once in that time, and I usually like Rogan/Apatow movies.
palo alto- 6.93/10. damn hipsters, if not for the mac laptops, i wouldn't have been able to tell if it took place in the 90s, 80s or 70s.
