Yup, along with the dude who played Roddy. They did the same and won an Oscar for The Descendents. They wrote The Descendents, but did not direct.
Just watched Moon with Sam Rockwell (awesome in every movie he's in) and I gotta tell you for a film that only has one actor on screen damn was it good. 8.7 outta 10
lol is that the movie with Kevin Spacey as the computer?? it was pretty decent. I agree with you on Sam Rockwell being a bad-arse actor. Loved his work in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
No Retreat No Surrender - holy ****e was this a hilariously bad movie. you know one of those that are so bad its good? its probably the only movie where jean claude plays a villain and says about three words. i give this 6/10 just for the unintentional comedy alone. Tropa Elite 2- 9/10. saw the first one awhile back and was amazed, then saw this one and was kicked in the satchel with awesomeness. wagner moura is an awesome actor and plays his role as captain so well. great great movie.
All is Lost - 9 out of 10. Robert Redford stars (well, is the entire cast) in this very good shipwreck at sea movie. Its been years since Redford has acted so well in a film, with almost no lines and no other cast members to play off, he holds your attention in a quiet, understated way (in stark contrast to Tom Hanks).
Captain Phillips - 8 out of 10. Almost dropped this down to a 7 due to Tom Hanks, who now has evolved into Meryl Streep (every performance requires an accent). But the story, and the performance of the pirates, raised this movie back up for me.
Watched "Faster" with the Rock and Billy Bob in it. Terrible movie. By the end I didn't care what was happening. I swear you could have removed one main character from the film and it wouldn't have changed a thing.
Runner Runner - 8/10 great movie. production value was pretty good. nice scenery, cars, women, etc etc. I don't often say this, but the movie could've been longer. 91 min air-time.
Fruitvale Station - only 85 minutes, but did a great job telling the dude's story. Played by Michael B Jordan from FNL. 8.5/10
Ip Man: The Final Fight 2/10 The final film of the Ip Man trilogy, and it was awful. Awfully awful. It was slow, uninteresting, and much of it was filler crap. Then they would fast forward years at a time while his son for some reason narrates to tell you about all the boring things they're skipping over. The "bad guy" of the film was hyped up very briefly towards the beginning of the film, then went unmentioned for the majority of the film, and then made a brief appearance towards the end to put up a poor fight against Ip Man. I enjoyed the first film for what it was. The second was pretty bad, but this third one was very bad. It's a shame that each movie just kept getting worse. They should have just stopped after one.
Upside Down - 5/10 I am disappoint. Interesting premise, but I should have listened to the narrator when he said "...but this is a story about love" and turned it off. And I just can't get over the bad guy from Harry Potter's crappy American accent. Monster University - 7/10 Really enjoyed it. Not nearly as good as the first one and had no memorable scenes, but an entertaining movie nevertheless. Oh and it has a good moral value. Welcome to the Punch - 1/10 Really? What was the point the movie? The story line isn't strong enough to be made into a movie IMO, which is a shame considering the cast. And that Victoria chick from Oblivion didn't look as hot with brown hair and no make up.
