Gonzo - documentary about Hunter S Thompson. 8/10 Focuses more on his career than his antics. Pretty interesting. I would definitely recommend it to fans of his books.
Not sure if I rated it in this thread or not but... The Watchmen - 8.5/10. W - 9/10. Really enjoyed it and felt it was a fairly accurate portrayal of the Bush Administration (for better or for worse, ). Currently reading B. Woodward's State of Denial because of this movie.
Sydney White 6/10 That might sound a little high to you guys who know what this movie is but for some reason I like those quirky, teen comedies.
I haven't opened this thread till today to mention a movie I watched Sunday Traitor with Don Cheadle Kind of preachy but very good
I loved this movie for some reason. Especially when Mare Winningham asks Anthony Edwards if people will help each other and rebuild things and Edwards says "I think its the insects' turn."
Australia: Fantastic imagery and some pretty solid performances; engaging but fairly predictable story. The only real knock I have against it is the "whimsical" cinematography that is characteristic of a Baz Lurhman picture. Those sequences and shots distracted from the sweeping epic it was trying to be. 6.5/10 Body of Lies: an engaging story with good performances all around but falls apart a little towards the end. The trailer I think does a bad job of portraying the characters as they should be portrayed. And the final resolution seems a little too easy, especially when compared to the real world. 6.5/10
Reservoir Dogs: 9/10 The whole movie is a ride. Spoiler Didn't see Mr. Orange being the snitch. I loved how Mr. Pink was the only one acting professional and he walks out at the end w/ the diamonds. If only we could've seen the heist. Awesome Tarantino movie.
2/10 - It took 3 sittings to get through to the end It was an incredibly infuriating movie Rocket River esp since my roommate in college GLOWED ABOUT it .. that I ABSOLUTELY MUST SEE IT . . .. I had to wonder about him after that . ..
Didn't get to reply to this (in response to Role Models): I just though the story started to get stale with Rudd moping the whole time and Sean William Scott not getting enough screen time after the first 30 minutes. He was hilarious in the beginning. I was watching it because a friend raving about it also. What made it infuriating? I thought the movie was paced well and the ending wasn't a typical hollywood one.
Honestly . . .I really could not get past the language N-word this N-word That N-word B-word. I figure it had to be about half the fricking script. It was irratating. It severely distracted from anything that was going on in the movie. Rocket River
"Tell No One". Exceptional French mystery thriller that was very well acted and had a bit of a Hitchcock feel. Easily among the best in the genre in a while. 9/10 As an aside, the actor playing the main character looks a hell of a lot like a younger Dustin Hoffman.
