    About Cherry

A drama centered on a troubled young woman who moves to San Francisco, where she gets involved in p*rnography and aligns herself with a cocaine-addicted lawyer. . It stars Ashley Hinshaw, James Franco, Heather Graham and Dev Pate

8/10 pretty good.. saw Ashley Hinshaw boobies 5 times...loved it!

only bad thing was James Franco was in 10 mins of the movie.

Cabin in the Woods - 6/10

It was alright. Felt like they could have made it longer and went deeper into the cabin killings and the organization. Everything just went way too fast for me. The motorcycle scene had me laughing though.

    Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer.
6.5/10 - kind of cheesy but the twist near the end actually surprised me
    in a good way.

I was hoping for a similar viewing experience, but for me, it was...

Beasts of the Southern Wild - 5/10

The trailer portrayed a saccharine and contrivedly triumphant picture of a tough little black girl (oh how novel and endearing! /sarcasm) living in swampy Louisiana squalor--romanticized in a post-Katrina sort-of-way naturally--and if my language didn't tip you off, I clearly wasn't interested...

But then, I read a few reviews and began to think that the movie would resemble some kind of fantastical journey through the eyes of the protagonist, a la Big Fish, The Fall, etc... and so I was interested again.

The actual movie ended up fitting neither of my preconceptions; though, it did have touches of both. What it did not have touch of, however, was a narrative! This movie was very poetic in nature--I have very few reference points for this style of film since I try my best to avoid it, but that considered, it reminded me of Tree of Life. Whereas ToL was fully committed to abstracted reflections and a few strong themes, BotSW was a bit muddled by trying to construct a narrative with similar vignettes. Furthermore, it came complete with some obtuse symbolism--or perhaps I was too obtuse to figure it out!

Then again, it doesn't help that I kept falling asleep during the movie either.

    God Bless America - 6.5/10

Funny, fun to watch, very dark and a great dissection of how ridiculous and severe pop culture infiltrates our every day lives, but I wouldn't look too much for anything of weight outside of that. Meaning it's a great flick for what it is, but don't expect much character arch.

But if you love a good, guilty dark comedy, check it out for sure.

    When you can't even remember a movie's name, that's a bad sign.

    The Expendables 2

(or, How To Make A Movie With No Script - AT ALL)

    3/10

Utterly forgettable, utterly generic, utterly filled with apathy from every person involved.

The script for this movie could not have been more than about seven pages long.

Oh look, there's Arnold. Oh how funny, he says 'I'm back!' and 'I'll be back.' A lot.

Oh look, there's Chuck Norris. Wow, did he just tell a Chuck Norris joke? Yep.

Well, Jet Li's character had about fifteen seconds of a cool fight. But then he jumps out of an airplane and never exists in the movie again. Contractual obligation: filled.

Jason Statham is the only person in this festival-of-cynicism who looks to actually be making an effort.

I know this movie has been out for a few weeks, so if you were going to waste your money on it, you probably already did.

But for anyone else considering it, don't bother.

Did you see the first one? I would have given the first around the same score.. no way am I wasting my money on this.

Loved 180º South... But I do enjoy documentaries and climbing/backpacking more than most.

Watched The Dictator this weekend, 5/10. I think it's worth renting (for a buck from redbox) if you like SBC, but glad I didn't pay to see it in the theatre.

One of the most beautiful movies i have ever seen in picture and story! Acting was beyond great.
Bale really will go down as one of the greatest actors to live of our generation. There isnt a role he cant tackle!

Bourne Legacy - 7/10 - Quite enjoyable action flick. Story is a little weird but cohesive enough to not interfere.

Watched the movie "Se7en" last night for the first time. Fairly old movie, but great cast with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, and had a great mystery. If you haven't watched it and are in to murder mysteries and such, it's a must see.

Also...I saw it multiple times in theaters, but I just watched Cabin in the Woods again the other night, and that movie is simply brilliant. Some might disagree, but it was highly acclaimed and features one of the most clever plots of any movie in recent memory. Has some good scares, some great comedy, and as I said, the plot is just insane. Truly one of my favorites.

The Dictator. 3/10. There were a few funny parts, but after I watched the Dictator, I watched the Daily Show. And I laughed more in the first 3 minutes of the daily show than I did through all of the Dictator.
