Trollhunter Documentary style film that's a bit better than most. Not paticularly scary, but the troll designs and effects are thought were well done and the landscapes were pretty breathtaking. The final sequence was disapponting and cliche. Still it was a pretty cool film worth seeing. 6/10
Bernie- 9/10 Highly recommended. good story, frequently hilarious, and, when used properly like he is in this, Jack Black is an exceptional talent.
Prometheus: 7.5/10 Not bad but it helped to have backbround Seeking a friend for the end of the World: 6.5/10 has some funny parts, cute, decent movie... Brave: 8/10 Really good kids movie The Chronicle: 7/10 A lot better than I expected
Amazing SpiderMan: 6.5/10, it was ok, wanted to like it and some parts were good parts but to soon of a reboot....
Just watched the Sitter on iControl. It wasn't terrible, but it was about as average as a movie as you can get. I like Jonah Hill, but there were only a few laughs this whole movie. I'm starting to fall out of the movie comedy genre entirely, I laugh more in a an episode or two of my favorite comedy TV shows, or just looking around on YouTube honestly.
The Vow - 7/10 It Means War - 8/10 I liked it. Tom Hardy is just beautiful. Machine Gun Preacher - 8/10. This movie totally makes me feel so inadequate! Act of Valor - 7/10
Watched some solid movies this weekend but the lack of happy endings was depressing. Warrrior - 8/10. An awesome fighting movie with a plot that hooks you in. The relationship between father and sons was intense. The Grey - 8/10. Didn't know anything about it except that Liam Neeson was in it so that was good enough for me. I thought it would be similar to Cast Away except in Alaska, but I was wrong. It's a very grim story. The ending when he Spoiler realizes he's stumbled into the wolf den, arranges all the wallets before he sets his last, and begins reciting his father's poem was epic I thought. Not the ending one would expect... United 93 - 9/10. Flipped to HBO right as this was starting. Roller coaster of emotions for this one. I thought the filmmakers did a solid job of portraying the passengers and the hectic nature of that morning. The last 15 minutes or so with all the phone calls was too much though
Tree of Life - 5/10 DVR-ed it a while back and finally got around to seeing it over the weekend. It was alot of Terence Malick "eh". Outstanding cinematography...not much of a plot...felt like I was lost in a life raft while watching it.
The Crow (1994) - 4/10 What the **** did I just watch? How this movie has an IMDB rating of 7.5 is beyond me.
Thor and Captain America Iron Man 2 really left a bad taste in my mouth that I completely dismissed both when they came to theaters. But man was I wrong, both were great. 7/10
Joyful Noise - 7 out of 10. Sure, the story is predictable, the acting is weak, and Dolly's plastic surgery is scary, but the music is, well, joyful.
