Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - 8/10

Really enjoyable without being sappy in like in the previous 2 movies. I think this is what John Woo might have envisioned when he first took MI2, but he just sucks. Renner was great. Looking forward to seeing him in future MI movies and possibly take the reigns from Tom Cruise. One thing I didn't like was Tom's hair. I think he's had that annoying thing in his last 10 movies. Seriously, all the secret agents have well groomed hair, then Ethan Hunt comes out with his "hey, am I hip or what, huh?" hair.

    Johnny English 2 - 4/10

I think they tried to forced Mr. Bean's character into this. Fun movie I guess if I were still in elementary. Scully is still so hot. She aged really well.

Love in the time of Cholera: 5/10, slow, but not too bad, just a sappy love story in Colombia in late 1800's, early 1900's...

We Need To Talk About Kevin : 8.7 - Tilda Swinton and the actor who played the toddler-age Kevin were phenomenal. Creepy story that was told in a very unique manner. Highly recommended.

Wanderlust : 8.9 - Paul Rudd is my homeboy. He can rarely do wrong. This movie made me cry hysterically on multiple occasions.

    21 Jump Street

    8/10

Yes, it is yet another 'movie made from a decades-old tv series'.

Yes, it stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as buddy cops.

Yes, it is yet another excuse to put Hill into that awkward high school fish-out-of-water setting which audiences enjoyed to much in Superbad.

But. The filmmakers know all this going in, and let us in on the joke from the very beginning, and then say 'But so what? Watch, this will be hilarious anyway, you'll see.'

And lo and behold, it is.

I have never been one of those people who jumps on the bandwagon to sneer at certain actors the way so many people do. So I don't approach a movie with, say, Keanu Reeves, any differently than any other movie. I mention Reeves because Channing Tatum seems to have been caught in that same net. I have not seen every movie he has been in, but the few I have seen, there was nothing offensively bad about his performances, and so I am not gasping in surprise at his performance in Jump Street.

But apparently a lot of people are.

I will say, he does a fine job in this movie. And Jonah Hill is as reliable as always.

This movie plays with our expectations at many turns, which I will not spoil.

And yes there are some spoilerish things in this movie, so I will stop now.

If you liked Pineapple Express, Superbad, or even something like Stakeout, then you will probably really enjoy 21 Jump Street.

    Highly Recommended.

In Time - 8 out of 10. Wow, talk about your MILF dreams... Olivia Wilde. I actually like this one a lot; Timberlake was very good and understated in his role, and Amanda Seyfried, while a bit odd looking in the wig (and man, are her legs that skinny?), delivered some pretty cool lines. I also like the plot.

Forever Strong - 5 out of 10. I usually like all sports films, especially inspirational ones. And I realize this one isn't a your usual Hollywood effort. But the acting was really bad. The cutest girl had a very small, throwaway part (friend of the female love interest). I enjoyed the rugby action and the story behind the team and the Maori culture. But this one is definitely a TV movie.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Swedish, Extended version available on netflix (9/10): i've never seen the theatrical, swedish version or the american one so i can't compare. on it's own, this extended version was definitely worth the 3 hours. acting was superb and it was a spectacular climax.

Tower Heist: 6.75 out of 10

Definitely better than average. Mindless fun entertainment. Not laugh out loud funny, but solid Stiller humor. Casey Affleck with typical quality performance. Eddie Murphy and, surprisingly, Matthew Broderick, really do steal the movie. I'm not sure either should be headlining movies anymore, but both could do really well in supporting roles.

Tea Leoni, as usual, sucked. The end of the movie seemed rushed, and even too ludicrous, despite the it's going to be ludicrous nature of movies.

To kill a mockingbird. Im watching it right now and wtf is this? I have to write a critique paper and my eyes are bleeding. I have more patience in my grandmas house. I rather read the whole rox game thread than this. What is this movie about?

I think this was one of the things we had to read in my English class long ago. I couldn't tell what it's about either. I don't even remember reading it, much like many other books from high school.

Granted it's no Transformers II, but To Kill a Mockingbird is a solid movie. Boo Radley will mess you up man.
