The Proposition (2005) 8/10 Guy Pearce is the 2nd of 3 outlaw brothers who's been given a proposition by a police officer: find his older brother and kill him otherwise the officer executes Pearce's younger brother. Solid Australian western with excellent cinematography, an unnerving soundtrack, and a great cast. Not for those who like fast-paced movies. I docked off a couple stars because it brought nothing new to the genre, but still a great film.
I went in to watch super 8 with low expectations but I actually enjoyed it except for the ending. Anyways, just saw a few more movies. Xmen-9/10 Fast five 9/10 Can anyone recommend some good sports movies on netflix instant please?
saw Bad Teacher earlier had no real expectations for the film but was pleasantly surprised when I saw it actually had an R rating meaning it could really just pull out all the stops for its humor and yeah it was probably the funniest movie i've seen this year so far diaz while not the same bombshell she was in the mask was still pretty hot in her role 8/10
Took my daughter to Kung Fu Panda 2 today. 8/10. I thought it was as good as the original, and possibly funnier. Looks like there will be a third, I hope it doesnt go the way of Shrek.
My son and I tried to see Cars 2 yesterday but it was sold out. Instead we saw ... Green Latern - 5/10 Ryan Reynolds should stick to romantic comedies. Truly miscast as a super hero. Mark Strong as Sinestro was a saving grace. Maybe the producers can replace Reynolds on the sequel with someone strong enough to play opposite of Sinestro. Over movies that I have recently seen with my son ... Gnomeo and Juliet - 6/10 G rated love story. Targeting elementary school girls? FTW. Despicable Me - 8/10 My son enjoyed it and I thought it was OK, which is what most kid movies should be shooting for.
Watched my first ever Indian movie yesterday (Dhobi Ghat) after having it recommended by a friend. I liked it a lot, it's not the typical song and dance variety of Bollywood movies. I'd give it an 8/10.
True Romance -- 9/10. Highly entertaining... EPIC scene with Hopper and Walken: <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tqccyUpnZwA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Man now I'm curious if dude was right with his Sicilian lineage history lesson. I'm gonna look it up.
True Grit 8/10 I was impressed with the story and acting. Westerns aren't usually my type, but this was certainly entertaining.
Mesrine Part 1: Killer Instinct 6/10 - French films based on the life of gangster Jacques Mesrine. The first film was entertaining but I just couldn't get past the look of the guy playing Mesrine the gangster. He looked more like a French waiter than a gangster. It really screwed up the movie for me. Mesrine Part 2: Public Enemy Number One 6.5/10 I liked part two a little better. The guy doesn't nearly look the French waiter part as he gets older in the films. The action seems very realistic in these. People get shot, people get wounded, stuff happens... rarely are there just clean getaways.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 6/10 Story was a little boring to me. Even with a new cast, it was pretty much the same. Sail on water to look for something, betray someone on the way, find what you're looking for, cliffhangers for sequel. I'm never a fan of replacing old leading characters, unless it made the movie better. I think that's what they were going for, but it probably made it worse.
You know, I like modern westerns. I watched it last night, was a little disappointed. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. 6.5/10 If you haven't seen Silverado, check that out. Loaded with talent and story is strong.
Ugh im at the mall right now going to celebrate my anniversary with my girl and she wants to see that crappy movie green lantern cause of blake lively. This sucks i dont want to watch that piece of crap
