I just rewatched that Bill Parcells draft special I had recorded on my DVR and JJ Watt was the #1 DE on his big board.
Can he? I'm sure he could. Will he have the desire to? that's a whole 'nother question. He's already complained about going back to the 3-4. I think you see much more Watt than Smith at NT.
I gave it a B. A lot of sig worthy posts in this thread, which proves that a lot of people don't know **** about college players and how they'll translate to the NFL.
I'm sure someone else has thought of this by now, and it's either popular and I'm out of the loop, or everyone thought it was lame and shot it down, but JJ needs a nickname, and it's all too obvious: Killa Watt
I tried to tell you guys. Re-reading the first 3 pages of this thread is gold. Maybe some of you will learn to stop with the matter-of-fact declarations on players you've never seen play (other than a couple of 2-minute YouTube clip compilations).
Given the freakish athletic play that Watt played off yesterday, I think this is my favorite comment of this thread. Bravo.
Well, you certainly owned this thread in hindsight. And this is the reason why I've stopped bothering to make draft night grades on anything. Because quite frankly I'm willing to be man enough to accept my lack of knowledge on players. And I really would only get excited if the player is someone I personally would've enjoyed watching out of personal preference. For example, I liked the Marcus Morris pick because he seemed like potentially a great Power 3. Or I'd have in an alternate universe loved to have seen the Texans draft Vince Young because of his UT connection and the Rose Bowl.
