A from pure potential standpoint. Incomplete from fit standpoint. Wouldn't look great with our current roster, but there's a long way to go until training camp.
I'm not terribly familiar with either guy we picked but based on my research cramming, I think it was a successful draft. Going after any PG still around at the 18th pick most likely means you get a guy who isn't going to be a rotation player on a contending team for a few years. We don't need a project at PG, we need a veteran and proven big minute player in this league. Both guys we grabbed have no pressure on them to contribute immediately yet can earn their way into the rotation. I particulary like the Harrel pick. We are sorely lacking a big who just goes after it defensively when Dwight is out. Sure, D-Mo is solid but he isn't a disrupting force by any stretch of the imagination. Harrel can be a special if limited role player. I'm giving the Rockets a solid B for now but that goes to an A or A+ if we get a real starter at PG before the season starts.
Does the season start tomorrow? Josh Smith is a UFA and Jones is likely traded. Meanwhile, Bev is a RFA and his free agency future is in our control. Who knows what we need and who we'll have months from now? We likely have a plan and contingencies. If Morey liked a PG he would have drafted a PG.
B- I didn't like the Dekker pick. But the jury is still out on him. I like Harrell, I do not know how he will translate in the NBA. I still don't know how to pronounce his first name though.
