    Really? Multi-millionaire athletes who can walk away from their profession whenever they choose and retire to a very comfortable work-free life are like slaves on a plantation? They're like people who are forced to perform backbreaking labor for nothing but meager food and shelter and can be physically tortured when they don't perform their jobs to a satisfactory level? People who can have their entire families taken from them on the whim of another person? Those are really comparable situations in your mind?

    I think he meant it more so as, management could care less about a player as long as they are making the league money. Actually, didn't this quote stem from him continuing to be fined for criticizing officials and the league. He felt players didn't a voice. My recall of the events could be wrong.
