I didn't know about the meth.

I think he had promethazine in his system also. We already know he was smoking as well.

Its not about lifting weights (And if you don't think NBA players lift weights you're and idiot!).

If you give PED to someone who doesn't work out, they will still have more explosive power than before they took the drug.

this would be a big deal if this helped Rashards game, but he just stands on the perimeter shooting 3s all day

Right...the parallels between McGwire and Rashard Lewis are amazing...they are listed below:

NBA players really don't do that much work in the weight room compared to other sports. In fact after Jordan came back to the NBA he had to stop lifting as much as he did in baseball because it was hurting his game.

Sure NBA guys don't work out, they're just naturally able to bench 300 lbs.

that was the most anticlimactic story ever. that was worse than houston being fined for releasing the schedule 2 days early. i love basketball but really. the NBA has become freakin ridiculous.

He should have been banned for at least two years other sporting competitions around the world would have done.

And please, dont tell me about the ridiculous NFL and MBL bans.....neither of them leagues give a stuff if their players use roids.

I think it goes more on an individual basis. I'm sure there are guys in baseball, basketball and even football who don't lift weights. On the other hand, there are guys from all three sports who are absolute weight lifting fanatics.

    http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2009/08/ortiz_i_never_u.html

Ortiz sounds just like Lewis, except it took a week for Ortiz to 'remember' his story. But remember that Ortiz was blindsided by the news, which was leaked to the NY times and never supposed to come out, where as Lewis knew about his positive test for quite some time and had lots of time to come up with the right story.

I like the idea that there are some professional athletes who just don't even need to do weight training. How stupid are some people?

..and how many NBA guys do you think can bench 300 lbs? I'm going to guess it's a very short list.

Got any more youtube vids? A couple more and I'll believe you!

Did you even watch the ones you posted?

It has Kobe using 30 lb dumbells and TMAC looked to be putting up two 45's + bar - (the TMAC video was notable for the non-weight related workouts he was doing for the vast majority of it).

if that is the product of steroid use, then they must be the weakest pro athletes in the country.

Other than the kicker, I guarantee you you will not see a single NFL player who does not spend substantial time in the weight room during his NFL career. Same with baseball players who are now far more conditioned than in the old days (position players at least)

Baseball and Football are power sports, they aren't really endurance sports.

Did you score a 0 on the analogy portion of your SAT?

Because Rashard Lewis:Basketball and David Ortiz:Baseball or Mark McGwire:Baseball would get you a Brandon Jefferson-level score.

I don't having any score for the analogy section, maybe that was the way SATs were in the 70's? I got something above 1500 so I doubt it was a zero.

Anyway, keep telling yourself that nothing is connected, all your favs are squeaky clean and only those nasty drugs only help the dirty baseball players.

Well, for whatever reason I'm not willing to trust your bizarrro conspiracy theory, poorly drawn analogies, and videos of Tmac lifting an 8 pound medicine ball (OH MY GOD 8 lbs!) as indicative of a problem, over what the facts (thus far) indicate, as well as common sense and the lack of a historical record. There are probably some guys (Wallace, Mourning etc) who were not caught, as well as those who were (McLean, etc) - but given the nature of the sport and the physiology involved, a guy loading himself up with HGH and steroids may be hurting his game more than helping it, which is why not many do it.
