Has it occurred to no one that our interest and pursuit of Rashard is being kept quiet for good reasons?

I also admit that he might not be interested in Houston, but I doubt that. He said he'd meet with Houston in 2 weeks. Maybe Seattle will come across with a big contract by then, maybe not.

My question is, WHo would we trade for him? Cuttino won't go anywhere. Nor Steve nor Eddie. Not Yao.

He was the 15th pick in the draft. That doesn't exactly mean he's a guaranteed starter, and probably won't be for at least a year, maybe two. We don't owe Nachbar anything. If Rashard can be had then the Rockets would be stupid not to at least try. If they can't get him, then so what? I'd still be happy with the Rockets future.

I think we don't really "NEED" Lewis. but if a
Taylor+Morris+draft pick for Lewis Sign & Trade deal can work out then I say go for it! I mean if we can pay Taylor $7mil.+ I'd rather pay it to Rashard especially when we have Griffin & K.T. at the 4.
I'd like to see our lineup to start the season like this:

    Cato, Yao Ming
    Thomas, Griffin
    Lewis, Nachbar, Rice
    Mobley, Torres
    Francis, Norris, Brown

    RL: Willis, Madox, Collier

maybe we can also trade Cato+Thomas+Norris for Bonzi Wells+D. Davis, then we could be a serious contender.

    Willis, Yao Ming
    Davis, Griffin,
    Lewis, Nachbar, Rice
    Wells, Mobley
    Francis, Brown, Madox
